I don't own Hannah Montana. I was thinking of this fanfic when I was watching the fireworks in Philly.
"Finally," Lily said as the school bell rang and the kids headed home. "The weekends."
"Oh I know," Miley agreed, "and the best thing about it is that we don't have any homework whatsoever."
"And tomorrow is the fourth of July," Lily said, "I really love the fireworks. They are just so colorful."
"Yeah," Miley said, "too bad I won't get to see them."
"Why?" Lily asked.
"Hannah thing," Miley said, "and I won't be back till later than midnight."
Lily groaned.
"Sorry," Miley said,
"Hey its okay don't worry about it," Lily told her. "I'll have Oliver," her phone rang. "hello?" she answered. "Yes…uh-huh…okay," she said sadly as she shut the phone.
"Who was it?" Miley asked.
"Oliver," Lily said, "he can't hang out with me tomorrow."
"Really did he say why?" Miley asked her.
"All he said was that something came up and he can't see me till Sunday," Lily explained, "I was really looking forward to spending the fourth of July with him."
"I'm sorry Lily but I can cancel the biggest concert if you want," Miley told her.
"No, no that's fine," Lily said, "you go ahead and have fun at your concert."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, you can't stop being Hannah Montana."
"Thanks," Miley said as she hugged her, "you're a great friend."
Saturday came really quickly and Lily was lying on her bed throwing a ball and catching it. "I'm so bored!" she said in an exasperated tone. What could she do? Oliver was busy, Miley had left for her big concert, her mother was at work, her dad was far away, and she was alone. She decided to head down to the beach. There was nothing to do there but it did make time fly by.
She walked down the beach and sat down at a chair next to the table. She sat there fidgeting with her fingers. Not a lot of people were at the beach so it was a little bit deserted, a little quiet which was a good time for Lily to take a little nap. She put down her hat on her eyes and she rested.
"Lily," a voice said as he shook her, "Lily? Wakey, wakey."
Lily woke up and saw Oliver right beside her.
"Hey Olli-pop," Lily said as she saw him.
"Were you down here for the afternoon?" Oliver asked her.
"Yeah," Lily said, "you were busy, Miley had a big concert, my mom was at work, and I was really bored. The beach was quiet today anyway. Even the shack was closed."
Oliver looked around. "Well at least we're alone."
"What are you talking about?" Lily asked as she looked up at him.
"Look over there," Oliver said as he pointed behind her.
Lily turned around and saw that there was a table setting with a fabulous dinner.
Lily gasped, "did you do this?"
"I sure did," Oliver said.
"So that's why you told me that you were busy," Lily said, "I love surprises."
The two of them sat down and ate. Once they were finished with their dessert the fireworks began to blast.
"I love firework," Lily said, "they are just so romantic, beautiful, colorful…"
"But not as romantic, beautiful, or colorful as you," Oliver pointed out.
Lily giggled.
"Look at the sea," Oliver told her. Lily got up and she did. Oliver went behind her and covered her eyes with his hands.
"Wait what are you doing?" Lily asked.
"Count to three but slowly," Oliver told her.
"One…two…three," Lily counted slowly.
Oliver took his hands away from her eyes and Lily looked at the sky. She was in awe. In big yelled letters there was the word 'I', a pink heart, and the name 'Lily.'
Lily jumped into Oliver's arms, "I love you too."
The two of them kissed.
"Happy fourth of July," Oliver whispered in her ear.
