CHAPTER ONE
Life on the edge is busy. Most days are full of action and stopping the dragon hunters from their terrible plans, but the attacks have been happening closer to Dragons Edge lately.
Hiccup, Astrid, Fishlegs and Snotlout were sitting in the meeting room at the Edge, when they heard a huge crash, that shook the building. Snotlout dropped his cup and Hiccup nearly fell off his chair.
"What was that!?!" Screemed Astrid as the four of them ran onto the front porch. The dragon hunters were attacking the Edge. "Everyone, get to your dragons!! Attack like our last practice!!" Hiccup called to the riders.
In no time they were out battling the ships, and no one had realised that Ruff and Tuff weren't there. Finally, It came to the twins part, the finishing explosion. "Ruff, Tuff, your up!!" Astrid yelled, but there was no explosion.
"Oh my god's. Where could those two possibly be?"
"Don't worry, Hiccup. We'll deal with them after." Astrid sighed. "Fishlegs, backup shot!!"
After the battle was over, Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout and Fishlegs had been searching for Ruff and Tuff for about 45 minutes until one of the most likely spots they'd be at clicked into Astrid's head.
"Hiccup!! Let's go check their other bore pit, near the far beach" said Astrid, rolling her eyes. They told Snotlout and Fishlegs to check the closer bore pit, and then they head off on Toothless and Stormfly.
When the two arrived at the bore pit, they were expecting to find Ruff and Tuff running around and shouting inside it whilst chasing frightened bores. But the bore pit was clear. No twins, no bores, and certainly no noise. They were about to head back to the Edge when Hiccup spotted a cave opening in the side of the cliff near the pit. Hiccup and Astrid flew over to it and Hiccup asked Toothless to use his sensing skill. Toothless picked up some faint giggling sounds and as they got closer, Hiccup and Astrid could hear it too. "There they are!!" Hiccup whispered. They sent the dragons to sneak behind the two, who were tackling each other and drawing pictures in the dirt. Stormfly bit the neck of Tuffnut's coat and Toothless bit Ruffnut's coat. "HEY!! Put us down!!" Tuffnut demanded, but thankfully, the dragons didn't listen. "Uh, hello!! He said put us down!! Listen to him!! It's one of the few times you should though." Ruffnut added cheekily as Tuff agreed proudly, but then got annoyed with his sisters last sentence. The twin's Zippleback, Barf and Belch, sat there watching and laughing.
The sun was almost setting when the four got back to the Edge. Everyone sat down for dinner that Astrid had to make because Ruffnut wasn't here to make it. Whilst they were eating, Hiccup decided to ask the twins why they hadn't shown up to the battle. "What in Thor's name were you two doing?!" He questioned them.
"We just, well..." Ruffnut stuttered.
"You two are supposed to do the final explosion!! Your lucky one that Fishlegs was chosen for backup!!" Astrid said.
"Ok, okay, we're sorry!!" Tuff said before an argument started. Hiccup looked at them and raised his eyebrows as if to say "and..."
Ruff and Tuff blinked then they rolled their eyes and said, "We promise we won't sneak off again" while raising one hand and putting the other behind their backs. Finally, everyone had finished eating and they all headed off to their huts and went to bed, but the twins trailed behind. When no one was looking, Ruffnut and Tuffnut glanced at each other and brought out their other hand, which they had crossed their fingers.
