Chapter One
"For as long as we can remember, we have searched for what we believe could be a different universe. Some, however, don't stop there. Many people believe that there are infinite universes, almost exactly parallel to our own, despite a few minor differences. The theory goes that every time someone is faced with a decision, an entire new universe is created for each outcome. The smallest things can lead to decisions that ultimately could have changed the entire way a person's future turned out. Let's say you choose to walk left down a crossroad – in that universe, perhaps you grew up to become a musician. Now, following that example, say you walked right instead. In that timeline, in that universe, you may have grown to become something completely different. Interesting, no?"
"Let us focus on how this particular universe may be different from the one you remember."
"The story as you know it begins with a girl falling down a magical well and being transported back in time to the feudal era of Japan, where she goes on wild adventures with humans and demons alike."
"But in this universe, that girl never did fall down the well."
"She was an ordinary Middle School girl, and grew up with her family and friends, never knowing of the adventure that was waiting for her beyond that well."
"Her story is much different now."
