The case was finally over. Thank god, Heiji thought. He hated cases involving kids. It just wasn't right, he thought to himself while he was walking home. They didn'tdeserve to get killed. They hadn't done anything to deserve such cruel act upon them. No one had. He shook his head slightly, mumbling to himself, and opened the door to the house he and shinichi had bought together last year, after too much time commuting between Osaka and Tokyo.

They decided to settle down in Tokyo, after long arguments about it, with Heiji finally giving in ( after many protests, he might add). As soon as he opened the door, he saw shinichi. Without saying a word, Heiji went over to him, and pulled him into his arms, embracing him in a tight hug. He rested his head on his shoulder, while shinichi just had his arms around him. "Heiji," he said gently, "what happened?" Heiji hesitated a bit, his head still resting on Shinichis shoulder. "It was.. it was a kid. Head bashed in. Tried to find his kidnapped friend, and he.. got killed by the kidnapper." Shinichi shuddered a bit. He hated cases involving kids. Everyone did. He gently caressed Heijis cheek, which slowly made Heiji relax again. After some time, he removed his head from Shinichis shoulder, and slowly kissed him on the lips. After a while, he pulled back a bit, and smiled at shinichi.

"Thanks." Shinichi smiled, with his hand gently placed on his shoulder. "No problem, honey. Are you hungry? I made dinner." Heiji had been ignoring it a bit, but he were really hungry. He nodded, then followed shinichi into the dining room. They sat down, and began to eat. Sometime later, shinichi looked at Heiji, decided to ask about the case involving the child. "What was his name?" Heiji, knowing perfectly well who he meant, swallowed the food he was chewing on, then answered him. "Edogawa Conan."
