They sat in Logan's suite at the Neptune Grand. Veronica sat in Logan's lap, Wallace sat in the armchair, and Mac and Dick sat next to Logan and Veronica on the couch. Dick was finishing his 8th beer.
"Damn we are one strange ass group," Wallace said, leaving the music in the background. "Almost as strange as those freaky Spice Girls."
"Oh yeah? Who would be who?" Logan replied, laughing.
"Whom," his girlfriend corrected with a kiss.
"Well," Wallace began, thinking. "In looks, superfly over here is a definite Baby Spice. Logan, man you are Posh. Hell, I am Sporty, and Dick you are Scary, for obvious reasons. Mac is the manager. And I think I've had too many beers."
"No such thing man," Dick said, in an oddly serious tone. "Beer makes me horny, and that is a very good thing. How about it Ghost World?"
"You come near me, and you will be murdered," Mac protested as Dick got closer.
"Thus, with a kiss, I die," Dick laughed, and before she could say anything, he kissed her. She pushed him off and backed into a picture on the endtable. The frame hit the floor and shattered.
"Oh god Logan, I am so sorry!" Mac exclaimed, as she grabbed a towel and started to pick up the shards.
"It's no problem, I'll just pick up a new one when I trade in the Xterra tomorrow," Logan said in a pained voice. That car was his baby, but it was time to let go.
"Finally, Big Bird is going bye bye!" Veronica teased, pumping her fist in the air for good measure.
"What do you have against Big Bird? And besides, that car is my baby!"
"And here I thought I was your baby! As for my hatred of Big Bird, he is a complete show off! I mean, what is so special about him? Burt and Ernie are funnier anyhow!"
"Veronica, please tell me that was a joke," Mac pleaded. "Otherwise, Wallace and I may have to check you into the room with the nice rubber walls. The kind men in white coats will even give you check ups."
Logan laughed and Veronica hit him playfully on the shoulder. Half an hour later, Veronica and Logan were the only ones left.
"Alright Ronnie, how about we say goodbye to my, as you so kindly put it, 'yellow monstrosity' with a trip to the beach?" Logan asked waggling his eyebrows in suggestion.
"Hmmm. I don't know Logan, will you put the back seat down?"
"Did it this morning."
Veronica laughed as he dragged her out of the suite and to the elevator. She looked at her cellphone and saw it was 11:15. Her father was out of town tracking down Mr. Insurance Fraud, so she could stay out all night.
He led her to his car and, as promised, he put down the back seat, giving them a lot of room. Logan drove to Dog Beach in a hurry.
"Logan, I don't think they'll trade in your car if it's totaled. Slow down, I'm not enjoying this heart attack."
"I thought you were all about the adrenaline Sugarpuss," Logan teased his girlfriend, but slowed down nonetheless.
"Thank God, we're here!"
Logan exited the car and ran over to her end an opened her door. He helped her out, and opened the back door, and lifted her onto the flat floor of the car.
As he got in after her, he whispered, "I think you'll be saying God tons tonite, Ronniekins."
