Welcome to my newest Super-Girl any readers who read this and are also reading my other open Super-Girl story I will return to it shortly.
This story is inspired partly by the events in the Else-worlds crossover and just before here is what you need to keep in mind:

James runs CatCo
Alex and Maggie did get married
Mon-El and Winn are gone
Jonn left the DEO
Brainy and Nia both work at the DEO
Kara has met Kate already
Lois and Clark are gone
This is Kara/Kate story
Other Arrow verse characters will appear.

Chapter 1 My Dark Light
Kara was standing on the roof of Catco looking out in the city thinking about her life spiraled out of control although it wasn't of her own doing, she felt like she wasn't needed in National City anymore she had all the confidence in Alex to help keep the city safe.
Kara had been thinking it over for the past few days she had come to the decision that maybe she needed to just start over fortunately she knew just the place to do it she had been talking Kate Kane in Gotham the two had started developing a friendship since the Else-Worlds incident, Kara felt like she could let the billionaire in on another level that not many people were able to get to that was something she appreciated she had already told Alex she was leaving needless to say that Alex fought her on this but it was pointless.
Kara had already packed her things and prepared to move she decided leaving from Catco would be best she took one last look at National City then opened the breach to Earth one and Gotham Kara already had a job at Wayne industries lined up and Kate had also set Kara up with a loft not to far from Wayne's she was looking forward to the fresh start even if it was on Earth one.
Kara grabbed her bag off the roof and opened the breach taking one last look at Catco before stepping through and leaving the one place she had called home for so long.
Once the breach opened on the other end Kara found herself in the middle of fully furnished living room with leather couches and a 50" flat screen with various Super-Girl prints on the walls Kara knew this must have been James' doing somehow which she was appreciative of but for now she just wanted to get used to Gotham she'd be starting her new job soon as a reporter at the Gotham Daily which Kara found out Kate owns she was eager to get started.
Kara explored the rest of the loft and emptied out her bag the rest of her stuff was sent over via Barry and team Flash who knew of Kara's move shortly after Barry and Kate had bonded during a post Arkham mission thus leading to the arrangement with Kara.
With it being so late Kara couldn't explore the city just yet so she decided to just watch tv until she fell asleep.
Six hours later Kara awoke to her phone going off and as she looked at the ID it read Kate so she picked it up.
"Hey Kate what's up?"
"Nothing Kara would you come meet me I'm at the office I'll give you a Gotham crash course and we'll have breakfast my treat."
"Sure, I'll be right over see you in a bit Kate."
With that Kara showered and dressed and short time later found herself in Kate's office.
"So, I take it you like the new digs?"
"Yeah Kate thanks again".
"No problem but word to the wise keep your door locked at night even if you are an alien, he in Gotham people do get hurt."
"Thanks, I'll manage."
"With that out of the way lets get your Gotham crash course started".
"You know about Arkham from your first visit here's a rundown of who's who in that place."
Kate gave Kara a rundown of all the residents of Arkham and their histories but Kara wanted to know about one in particular.
"Kate you mentioned you had a guy in Arkham you called joker what's his deal?"
"Well Joker is public enemy number one to my family for reasons even I want to forget let's just say if he was to escape and Bruce found out we'd be using the Oliver Queen book of justice."
"I get it Lex Luthor is the same when it comes to Clark luckily his sister is nothing like him."
"Yeah, I've heard of her Lena, right?"
"Yeah she's amazing she's one of my close friends."
"Speaking of which I did some research on you in National City did you ever hook up with the non-evil Luthor?"
"No, I didn't besides she's straight and is dating James."
"Ah so you're saying you wouldn't hook up with her given the chance?"
"I don't know I never thought of Lena that way."
"Alright keeping with the romantic theme are you seeing anyone now?"
"I'm not why?"
"No reason but if you were interested in exploring anything here, I make a great wing woman."
"Noted but what does my love life have to do with my Gotham tour?"
"Nothing really just trying to get you to loosen up a bit you've been uptight since you got fired."
"Sorry it still hurts you know I left because it was best for me but part of me wanted to tell that ass of a president to fuck off."
"You should have but don't worry you're in Gotham now the world will soon see that Kara Danvers is a force and all the criminals here will see that Super-Girl is an enhanced version of their worst nightmare we'll take the city back piece by piece count on it."
