Giulio is the name of the adopted son of Lorenzo de Medici, and bastard son of Giuliano de Medici, historically. I'm guessing the show will go on that direction and so, I named the baby with that name.

Vanessa holds the baby to her chest, as if it was the most precious of diamonds and if she even dared to lose her grip, it would be gone forever. Because this baby, it wasn't just hers anymore. It was a Medici. And without Clarise and Lorenzo, her baby, her little Giulio was the future heir of the Medici House.

All thanks to Nico. But deep down, even if she denied it constantly, she knew it was the right choice. He would grow up around his father's house and loved by many, feared by some, but loved all the way. And now, without il Magnifico, she was the prime Head of the Medici House, the most important person in Florence.

She fondly caressed Giulio's cheek as the baby gulped in dreams and she recalled the time Lorenzo had came to her, night before he left Florence to only god's will.

"Clarise will provide you wil shelter and everything you need." She didn't knew Lorenzo much, rather, she only knew him by stories and by Guliano's tales of his big brother. They spoke of him as magnifico and intimidating, but for Vanessa, he was a man giving her the opportunity to mean something.

"She doesnotcare about me, Your Magnificence." The little fly, the most powerful woman in Florence had made fun of her name and gave her a disapproving look, wary about Vanessa's true intentions. Lorenzo knew best, though.

"Give her time; Clarise is a hard woman to warm up to." He trusted his words and a gentle man and Vanessa just looked up in worry. He would be gone and she would be alone with Clarise Orsini. Only Verocchio to be be around. No Nico, No Lorenzo, No Leonardo, No Zoroaster.

She would be alone in a Palace like her prison.

"Will you be here whenhearrives?" She did not know the sex of the baby yet, but she was sure, in a way, it would be a male heir, and in all ways, it had to be, to keep the Medici line. Lorenzo seemed tentative and shock his head, taking her soft hand on his own.

"I'm afraid not. The journey is far too stretch for me to come before he is delivered." She sighed looking down. She would miss him, because at least on his company, she wasn't all alone in Florence. He would visit her at times; speak to her, almost trying to find out why Giuliano was fascinated by her. "Take care of yourself, Vanessa."

"Come back safe, Your Grace."

She rocked Giulio on his crib and watched carefully as he seemed all in peace on his dream. There was a knock on the chamber door and she turned over her shoulder to glance at one of the guards.

"Pardon me, Your Grace." She almost cringed at that. She was never supposed to be a grace, less a Medici one. Vanessa just nodded, giving him the permission to speak again. "His Magnificence has returned to the Palace." And she felt her heart stop. "With the Artista Da Vinci and his friends."

She could die of happiness right in that moment. There was a soft cry coming from her lips as she looked down at the sleeping baby, her voice a whisper. "You are going to meet your new family, Giulio."
