Chapter 1 - Prologue

My name is Razi. When I was just a leaf ready to be plucked from the ground, Captain Olmir forgot about the newly planted seeds he had sown in the Forest of Hope. Sure enough when night fall arrived, the beasts of the forest came out and started devouring all of the other seedlings around me. I suppose they didn't want to kill me for their reasons. Perhaps it was because they want me to grow up so they can watch my miserable life and then end in it quickly in a battle. I ask myself every day, why would Captain Olmir leave us to suffer. Was he gathering the parts necessary for his spaceship or was it because he just forgot about us. Whatever the reason was, it's done with now and nothing can change the past.
I shiver now in the cold, lifeless area near my origin. Our onion still remains here, waiting for a Pikmin to bring an animal or fruit to absorb so it may create more of my clan. I suppose I could restore it, however I every time I do, I just can't bring myself to do it. Fear, it's the biggest thing that shaped my life into what it is now. Every time I try to sneak a fruit that I find on the ground or the carcass of an animal, I always run for shelter because the beasts are patrolling this forest all the time. I'm just hoping one day, I will be able to find Captain Olmir. He gave me this horrible life, perhaps he can help me get rid of it. If Captain Olmir ever does return, will he summon the yellow Pikmin to help create more of my kind? The yellow Pikmin, I remember overhearing one of the insects talking about their ability to harness small bombs and use them in battle. If I remember correctly, that insect also said the yellow Pikmin helped destroy walls for Captain Olmir so he could retrieve a part. I hope to meet this race of Pikmin some day. If I'm not mistaken, they're onion originated here in this forest, just like mine.
Great, something is coming my way. I gasp and almost feel as if reality is slipping my mind. "You, it can't be!"
