Note: This is a poem that goes with my Narnia fanfiction Debt of Honor. You don't have to read DoH to read this of course. It is the seeming tragic story of a star and young Archenlandian who fall in love. It seems that their love can't end well as his family is pressuring him to marry a wealthy lady, and no one believes his word about the star. The full story may be posted eventually, or perhaps posted in DoH, but for now, please let me know what you think!

Lithia

Wins blows with it's cold fingers,

but I care not.

I am here in the dark,

for your hands I have sought.

The darkness is my friend,

for I see you come.

I hope the night will never end,

I long for your love.

Your hair is burning fire,

your eyes are shining lights.

Your lips are glowing embers,

you are such a sight.

Your clothes glimmer with stardust,

your countenance is sweet.

Your laughter is twinkling,

tonight we meet.

Alas, as our hands touch,

a pain deepens me.

As much as I love you,

I know that we can never be.

Oh Lithia, Lithia, I long for you,

Lithia! Lithia! born of the sky.

Oh how I love you,

but soon you will be torn from my sight.

Dawn will approach,

and you will be gone.

A phantom, a dream,

says all who will come.

They say you aren't real,

but dearest Lithia love,

star of the sky,

My fairest dove.

I know at night,

you are real indeed.

And maybe someday,

others will see.

Maybe Aslan will have mercy,

maybe Aslan will be kind.

Aslan is all knowing,

can our hearts be entwined?

Oh Lithia! Lithia! I bid you farewell,

for daylight is coming.

Lithia dove,

sleep till tomorrow.

For then I may see you,

my joy, and my sorrow.
