I don't own H2O but I do own Kate and Dan. I was just bored, and thought I'd write a one shot of how Bella became a mermaid. Hope you like the story. No flames please.

"Hey Dan!" Kate shouted. "Go get some bread!"

"Why exactly should I get the bread?" Daniel, her husband screamed in reply. "You get it." The woman then yelled something that Bella couldn't quite hear, but could probably be easily guessed. The shouting continued, and Bella buried her head in her hands.

Nine year old Isabella Hartley lived in Ireland. She quite liked it there, but at the same time, she didn't, because she was lonely. She was always moving around, all over the world, and never had any time to make friends. And anyway, there was no one around who was her own age.

But the worst thing was that her parents kept arguing. She was pretty sure they were going to break up soon, and she wanted to spend time with them. But because of their constant quarrels, they never had any time for her. The young child was ignored, and most of the time, her parents didn't even know she was there.

Bella was bored, and tired of hearing her parents fight and argue. She needed something to do. So, Bella decided to go and explore down on the beach, or anywhere for that matter; she didn't really care as long as she got away from her so-called 'home'. Bella went down the stairs, and crept out the door, but she could have been stamping her feet, and blowing a trumpet as loud as it would sound; they were so engrossed in their quarrel.

30 minutes later...

The petite nine year old clambered over some rocks as the wind blew her hair and face. After a while, she dropped down onto the sand, and knelt, running sand through her fingers. Just then, however, something else caught her eye. I was a small opening in the rocks. She decided to go and see what it was. After standing up, and brushing the sand off her dress and legs, she set off into the cave.

Bella looked around in awe as she witnessed a cave glistening with crystal like water. The cave sparkled as the rising full moon shone on it. "Wow" Bella whispered, blown away by the pure beauty of the cave. As Bella spun around, her eyes directed her to a pool. The moon was almost up, and towered over the beautiful clear blue water. Bella decided to get in, and she jumped into the water fully clothed. As she got in, the pool started to glow. It wasn't like anything she'd ever seen before. It was... magical. Bubbles of water then started to rise, up to the moon. Bella was in the middle of it all, in complete shock and amazement at what had just happened.

She clambered out of the pool, still with her mouth wide open, clearly flabbergasted at what she had just experienced. It was then, that she saw a small, diamond shaped blue crystal on the floor of the cave. She picked it up and put it into her pocket. Bella was an independent nine year old, but even so, she was a little scared. She half skipped, half ran back home, and crept into her house, and back to her room. She fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Bella woke up the next morning, excited, having had wonderful dreams, about where she had gone the evening before. She slowly got herself out of bed, and walked over to her bathroom, where she started to run herself a bath. When it was pretty much overflowing- she liked it like that- she undressed herself and hopped in. Bella was not expecting what came next. After about ten seconds of being in the water, she sprouted a massive...tail. She looked like some sort of giant fish. No; she... she...she looked like a mermaid. She was a mermaid! Bella looked at her tail again. She couldn't believe her eyes. She blinked time and time again; she pinched herself over and over, but it was still there. It was what she'd always wanted, She loved mermaids and the sea, and now she actually was one.

The End

R+R; I will be forever grateful!
