Afar
Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach. There I said it.
She could only watch him from afar.
She had been told that everyone had his or her own burden. He was hers.
They had been best friends for years. She had been with him through his mother's death.
Everyone thought that she was ignorant, but she could remember when she and Orihime had been attacked at Orihime's house. Perhaps they had only been blurry shapes then, but now, she could remember it perfectly. She remembered the creature that had attacked them, she remembered seeing the new girl giving orders, and she remembered whom Rukia had been giving orders to. It had been him. The man who her heart belonged to.
She remembered the way Rukia had entered their school, their friends, and his heart.
When Rukia had disappeared she remembered their whisperings of, "Nobody remembers her." But nobody had asked her, or she would have told them that she remembered Rukia. Suddenly she had found herself no longer a part of their group. A group that had once only consisted of only him and her.
She'd seen them use their powers. They thought she had none of these abilities, none of these powers, but they were wrong. She just kept them hidden.
Then all of her friends had disappeared themselves, to rescue Rukia. They had left her alone. Alone with her thoughts.
Orihime loved him; Rukia loved him. It would hurt Orihime enough when she realized that, if she had not already done so. She could not hurt her best friend more by admitting her feelings. His heart belonged to Rukia; neither she nor Orihime could have it.
She loved him with all her heart, but his belonged to another. She would not hurt any of them by admitting this fact.
For now she would content herself by watching him from afar.
She could not do any more.
Because everyone had a burden, and Ichigo was Tatsuki's.
A/N: I seriously have no idea where this came from. o-0
