I always loved Sundays in the castle. Most people spend the day doing homework or studying, but I try and get mine done before Sunday so I can spend it reading or hanging out with the girls. Usually I would be down by the lake with Lily, Alice and Mary, but they all left their Potions homework until the last minute. So I was downstairs in the common room reading. I could feel his eyes on me as I read my book. Sirius and I hadn't told anyone about us yet. And both of us were happy to keep it that way.
He was seated on the chair opposite mine, his feet resting on the coffee table situated between us. I looked up only slightly from my book, to catch him winking at me. The common room was relatively full, the tables containing studying students, friends talking and first years playing wizards chess. James Potter was sitting on the sofa opposite the fireplace.
"Padfoot, wanna go play some Quidditch? I'm bored" James asked Sirius, I'd gone back to my book, but could see Sirius had to tear his eyes away from me to look at his friend.
"No can do Prongs, gotta go do some study, sorry mate"
"Study?" James questions, unconvinced.
"Mmhm" Sirius said, picking up the books from the table in front of him and standing up, but not before giving me a look. And I knew what the look meant. He gave James a pat on the shoulder as he passed, "See you in a bit"
"Yeah, see you later" James said, still confused.
I waited a moment before I too, closed my book and stood up.
"Where are you going?" James asked me,
"Down to the lake, need some air." I said innocently,
"It's freezing out" James said
"I've got a coat" I smiled, before leaving the common room through the portrait hole.
I began walking down the stairs, until I was in the Entrance hall. I didn't exactly know where Sirius had gotten to, but I knew he'd be around. Just as I passed a tapestry, a hand jumped out and covered my mouth, pulling me behind and into a concealed passageway.
Sirius took his hand off my mouth as I laughed and he put his hands on the wall either side of my head.
"Study hey?" I whispered seductively
"Indeed" he smirked as he leaned in and kissed me. He put more of his weight against me, so I was practically pinned to the wall.
"Do you think James knows?" I asked him, his face was so close to mine I could feel his breath.
"I don't think so" He said, before kissing my forehead. "I wish we didn't have to hide though"
"We could just tell people" I said, running my hand through his soft hair.
"We could."
But we both know we won't. I'm a muggleborn and Sirius... well Sirius is a Black. If his family was to find out he was dating a muggleborn, or if any pureblood family was to find out, he could potentially be in danger, not to mention it would raise me as a target for 'mudblood hate'. It was hard at first, not telling our friends. But we figured it was best for the both of us.
Sirius moved his hands from the wall to my hips. His hands slowly moved up towards my hips, bringing the bottom of my shirt up with him. His hands were warm against my skin. He looked up at me cheekily, and then kissed me again; something about the way he kisses me makes me feel warm, safe, like nothing in the world can hurt me as long as I have him.
He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist, I giggle slightly and he grins. He kisses my neck as he speaks,
"We should just leave after schools over"
My hands are still tangled in his hair, and I ask him, "And go where?"
"Anywhere. Somewhere we can be together" he puts me back on the ground. And I look up into his eyes. He's serious. I search his face.
"Is that what you want?"
"What I want... is you Katie."
