"Together Under the Stars"

Naruto walked into the deep woods wandering aimlessly until he came upon a field he looked around. "This will be good right here." He stretched his body out on the grass and gazed at the stars. "At times like these I wish Sasuke was here… He would probably complain about me being too close to him." A chill ran down his spine and he shivered. "It's cold…"

There was a sudden movement in the trees.

He jumped up and went to grab a kunai but realized he left it at home. The noise got closer and then a rabbit jumped out of the bushes. "Stupid thing…" He glared at the rabbit and it retreated to the woods. When he returned to his stargazing he ignored the noise that he heard in the woods because he though it was the rabbit.

Sasuke looked down at the dead rabbit. "Stupid rabbit you almost blew my cover." He kicked it and ducked down remembering he was trying to be quiet. He peeked over the bush and saw the blonde wasn't moving. He sighed. "I didn't startle him at least…" He sat on the ground and watched the blonde for what felt like hours. "Why isn't he moving?" He stood up and slowly crept up to the blonde. When he got over to him there was a small trail of drool coming from his mouth. "Naruto you are so stupid to fall asleep in a place like this… It's dangerous…"

Naruto moaned and turned over. "Sasuke… You can't… Leave…"

Sasuke slid his hand through Naruto's hair. "I'll come back one day and stay with you forever but for now… I… Have to kill Itachi." He lied down by Naruto's side and saw he was shivering. "Of all days you decide to leave that puffy jacket at home." He wrapped his arms around Naruto.

"It's so warm…" Naruto wrapped his arms around the warmth and opened his eyes.

Sasuke froze. "Please don't be awake!"

"Sasuke is that you? I didn't know a bastard like you could be so warm."

Sasuke was shocked that Naruto didn't throw him off. "I-I'm not that warm am I?"

Naruto nodded. "Yeah… You are…" Naruto pressed his cheek against Sasuke's chest. "Sasuke are you here to stay?"

Sasuke sighed. "No… I already told you idiot… I'll come back after I kill Itachi… Then we can live together… Just you and me…"

Naruto smiled. "Sounds nice…"

Sasuke laughed. "N-Naruto… I have to go now… The ninja's will come after me."

Naruto held him tightly in his arms. "Let's stay like this… At least until morning… Then you can leave…"

Sasuke hesitated. "I-If you insist…"

"I do… This is the first time… I've got to lie under the stars with you like this."

"That's true…" He put his hands on Naruto's cheeks and gazed into his eyes. "You remember our first kiss."

Naruto snickered. "Of course I did how could I forget? I wish it would have lasted longer though." Naruto's face turned red after he realized what he said. "I didn't mean I wanted to-"

Sasuke pressed his lips against Naruto's and kissed him long and deep.

As they broke away Naruto gasped for air.

Sasuke laughed. "Was that long enough?"

Naruto punched him. "It felt like you were sucking up all my oxygen…" Naruto looked away." "Yeah… And it was a lot better than the first… It tasted like ramen!"

Sasuke sighed. "I knew I shouldn't have had that ramen before I came here…"

They both laughed at the stars shined even brighter than they ever had before.

Naruto woke up in the morning and searched for Sasuke's warmth. He sat up and looked around. The only trace of Sasuke left was the imprint of his body in the grass. "He left already… Damn… That bastard better keep his stupid promise!"

Sasuke wrapped his arms around himself. "I have to keep my promise so I can hold him in my arms under the night sky every day just like that!" He put his hands on his hips. "I have to get stronger! Or… I can give up on Itachi… Damn it's so tempting… Well either way I have to get stronger in order to protect Naruto!"
