Pairing #96: Fred Burkle/Severus Snape

"This is ridiculous," Snape shouted. "How could this happen?"
"Best I've figured Cordelia locked us in. And then she probably had someone magic the locking so we couldn't get out until she got what it was she wanted," answered Fred, calmly sitting Indian style on the floor. Looking up at the potions master, she continued, "No offence, if it'd offend you, but it was most likely Dumbledore. He seems the type that might go along with something like this."
"That's because he would go along with this sort of thing," growled Severus, before sitting on the floor.
The two were stuck in a wine cellar. And nothing either of them had tried got them even one step closer to getting out, unless you count that they discovered a variety of methods wouldn't. Fred wasn't actually trying that hard to get out though. She was happy her best friend had noticed her interest in Severus, and had done something about it. The Texan wouldn't of done it her own.
"Hey," said Fred, getting up to pick out a bottle. "Why don't we play I've Never?" At the Brit's incredulous stare, she added, "We've got nothing better to do."
So Snape grabbed a bottle of wine off a rack, and they started. A couple hours later neither had more than a bare semblance of being sober. Finally having the courage to, she kissed him. And he kissed her back. Note to self, Fred thought, Thank Cordy for the best present ever.
