Disclaimers: The wonderful world of Harry Potter is not at all mine and obviously belongs to the brilliant J. K. Rowling. The plot, however, is mine.
Word Count: 466 words
Notes: Based off the first line of lyrics in the song "Jealous Minds Think Alike" by You Me At Six. Very short and just for fun.
"I guess now is a good time to tell the truth," Harry said weakly.
"Yeah, I reckon we all agree on that, mate," Ron said.
Harry felt positively faint with nervousness. His green eyes shifted from his stunned friend, to Hermione, who looked just as stunned, and then sideways to his lover, Draco. Draco looked paler than usual, his brows drawn together in horror. Harry cleared his throat and separated from the blonde, his arms reluctantly slinking away from Draco's hips. Draco stepped away from the Gryffindor and after a few blinks, straightened himself up and put on a 'I am a Malfoy and therefore better than you' expression.
"So?" asked Hermione, her voice rather squeaky as she fidgeted, eyes trained on Harry and Harry only, as if Draco was not really there.
"I, err, well - I-"
"Oh, spit it out already, will you?" Draco snapped, scowling at Harry. Harry merely sent a frightened look over at Draco, so he sighed. "Harry and I have been romantically involved for the past three months. There we go, not that hard, is it?"
Ron let out a sound like a stepped-on rodent and Hermione was stunned into silence. Harry licked his lips anxiously - the taste of Draco had lingered there.
"So," Draco drawled on, "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to get on with snogging, which we were so blissfully doing until you two had rudely interrupted."
He looked at Hermione and Ron with reproach. Ron's ears grew an impressive shade of red but it seemed like he couldn't manage to say anything. Hermione stepped forward, still looking rather shocked, but could speak.
"Harry! Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
She sounded absolutely scandalized but stern. Harry pondered this for a minute, but simply shrugged at the end of it.
"I was kind of thinking the same thing," he mumbled, and turned back to Draco.
Said Slytherin smirked and pulled Harry forward by the tie, capturing him in a strong kiss. Hermione frowned and Ron gave a sort of hiss.
When the two boys parted, Harry looked apologetically at his two friends.
"Sorry, I'll, err, explain later," he said quickly. "But right now, can you two leave? Please," he added at the look on Hermione's face. "I'll explain everything later. I promise."
"I - fine. Fine," Hermione said after what felt like ages. "But you better have a fantastic explanation as to...this. Come on, Ron," she said as she took him by the wrist and pulled him away despite his protests.
"Thank you," called Harry to their backs before turning back to Draco with a devious smile. "Now...let's continue, shall we?"
"Love to."
