Character: Daphne Greengrass
Payback is sweet
Daphne Greengrass was furious.
Pansy Parkinson had dared to embarrass her in front of their entire house. Pansy only thought of herself highly because her father was an Inner Circle Death Eater. That little prat could not do anything for herself and lived off her father's achievements.
Pansy was only of average intelligence and most of the students of Slytherin House knew that she had only gotten into Slytherin because she did not fit into any of the other houses. They knew that form observing her for as long as they did. The only reason she was able to gain any respect was because no one wanted her to tell her father. No one wanted a Death Eater after them. Most of the Slytherin house would do anything to have just an hour with her for payback if they could have it without retribution.
Obviously they had not been thinking about it like true Slytherins.
She had. Which was why Pansy Parkinson would soon be the target of the majority of the Weasley Twins' pranks.
Her family was a neutral family and thus had no problems with muggleborns or so called "blood-traitor" families like the Weasleys. One of her sister's friends was raised in the muggle world and another was a muggleborn, so she could not possibly have problems with them.
The Weasley Twins had been suspicious of her at first but had accepted her preposition after a short explanation. They had been happy to help after that and had eagerly agreed with wide grins that would have scared her had she been the target. They had planned for the pranks to start a fortnight after the agreement so that Daphne could not possibly be blamed as Pansy tended to insult at least one person per day.
She had searched for Peeves after that. He had been wandering near the Kitchens with a couple of rotten fruit in his hands. She had not even wanted to give thought to the use of those fruit in the near future.
She had quickly frozen the poltergeist then given him a brief summary of what she wanted him to do. She knew that it would appeal to Peeves as he loved creating chaos and pandemonium and he would not even need her reason for wanting to get it done. Peeves had accepted with a chuckle and a wink before zooming off to some corridor to attack unsuspecting students with his acquired fruit.
Two weeks later and everything had gone according to plan.
Pansy was having her worst day yet. Her entire wardrobe had been dyed a puke-green colour that could make anyone sick and no matter how much she tried to charm it back, nothing would work.
Then she had been caught in one of the Weasley Twins' portable swamps and had been soaked entirely, not to mention the bits of plant that had made their way into her hair. Peeves had come along then and dropped bubblegum into her hair, something that would not come out of her hair without ice and Pansy hated ice.
Her week only grew worse as the time passed and she was caught up in more of the Weasley Twins' pranks that seemed almost random but always caught her. Peeves was always nearby to mock and humiliate her and generally make her situation worse after the Weasley pranks to the point of nearly making Pansy cry.
Daphne watched through all this with satisfaction. Payback was most definitely sweet.
