Here is a quick recap to those who have not read Godzilla: Age of Monsters Ep1 Dawn of a New Age.
An atomic bomb resurrects an egg from another age and is brought to the Toho Institute of Science. The saurian creature hatched and developed a familiar bond and telepathic link with young psychic Miki Saegusa. Called Godzilla, he grew at a rapid rate becoming a target by an organization known as the United Nations Kaiju Countermeasure Centre, though the attack failed. Godzilla returned to Miki but because of his natural instincts attacks the Japanese Armed Forces, Miki then convinced Godzilla to return back into the water.

Prologue
The high, rocky hills surround Iwato Island, an uninhabited land of layered rocks formed by volcanic eruptions. With high rocky outcrops that surround the island, which provides the perfect landscape for hikers. In fact two are exploring at this moment, taking in the view and watching the waves crashing against the rocks below them.
"This view is amazing, just look around you Koji." A young man said with excitement, as he was looking down below. His companion however, was not very thrilled. "That is great Shoichi, really it is. But can we now get off this island, it gives me the creeps." Shoichi's friend said, standing far away from the edge.
Both of them are both pilots for a tuna cannery company that is stationed in Osaka, their job is to survey hunting spots from the sky, in order for the company ships to fish. But they also share a past time of hiking around the islands that surround the waters where they fly. Though Koji prefers to do his job then go home, rather than exploring these islands.
"Oh come on Koji, you coward. This is just one of many, who knows what secrets this island might be hiding from the world." Shoichi shook his head with great 'sadness' at his friend's uncooperative manner. Koji looks to his right then to his left. "All I see are rocks. I am also not a coward… I would rather just be back home than here." Koji said. Hoping that Shoichi would give up the exploration, his wish is denied. "So I am right, you are a coward." Shoichi said cheekily, before looking down again. Koji was fuming in anger at Shoichi's reaction to him, all he wants to do is go home.
Shoichi was about to continue on, when he spotted a dark shadow starting to come into view. It is big and is getting bigger by the second. Instantly, water is sprayed high above them, catching Shoichi and Koji by surprise and drenched them; both of them spluttering up the unexpected water, and rubbing their eyes. Then they stop and pause, hearing the sound of something heavily breathing… something monstrous. They looked up in horror as an inhuman eye stares right at them, there was only one thing they can do… run for their lives!
Screaming in terror, the two men flee as fast as their feet could take them. The booming sounds of the creature footsteps giving them clear confirmation that whatever it is, is chasing after them with ease. No matter if they ran around a pile of rocks, the creature smashes its way with no signs of stopping.
"… Quickly Koji… do you see… that cave… to the right of you!" Shoichi shouted over the booming footsteps. Koji looked and sees what Shoichi is talking about; a cave. Too small for the monster, but perfect for them. Using whatever energy they have left, they bolt for the caves entrance. Entering without any hesitation, they manage to escape the gapping jaw of pillar sized teeth. Hiding in the shadows as the beast let out a haunting roar.
This is one secret that they did not wanted to find; but needs to be told.
