"No, don't you dare fucking leave me, teme!"
"Sorry, dobe. But I can't hold-" he coughed, "I don't think there's much life left in me."
"No, no. Just hang on. Hang on, the medical nins were sent out already, just stay with me, yea?"
"Naruto... I..." he coughed again, more blood coming out.
"Sasuke don't! Hey, remember the days at the academy," Naruto smiled sadly at Sasuke and he smiled back, "Remember our first kiss?"
"Of course I remember dobe. No one forgets their first kiss, especially when it develops to what we have now."
"Then that's more of a reason not to leave me right?"
"Yea, I guess so," Sasuke weakly smiled at Naruto who's tears were silently slipping down his cheeks. Sasuke touched his face and with his thumb he caressed Naruto's face, wiping away whatever tears were flowing out of those beautiful blue eyes.
"Did you know you had the purest blue eyes I had ever seen Naruto?"
He stifled a cry, "Really? You think so?"
"I know so. Like I know how soft your hair is. Or these cute little whisker marks you have that frame your face so perfectly. You're so gorgeous Naruto."
Again, he coughed. More blood seeping out. "Sasuke..."
"Don't cry Naruto. You know I hate it when you cry, it doesn't suit you," They both laughed weakly.
"I can't help it, teme. I'm afraid of losing you; you still have so much ahead of you! Please don't give up on me. Not now. Please..."
"I'm sorry, Naruto. I'm sorry I was weak," Sasuke cupped Naruto's face loosely and Naruto rubbed his face against Sasuke's hands, "I love you, Naruto, so fucking much. And I'm so grateful to you."
"Then why? Why Sasuke? I didn't need your help! You knew that!"
"You left an open spot for an enemy attack, dobe. He took it was his chance to attack, there wasn't much time to think and react. It was an immediate reaction."
"Sasuke..." He coughed, growing weaker each second, "Sasuke please." His tears were dripping onto Sasuke's face, wetting the bloodied face and provoking Sasuke to come up with tears of his own.
"Kiss me, Naruto. Kiss me before I die..." Naruto opened his mouth to protest, but they both knew it was useless. He was losing Sasuke. The medical ninja wouldn't be in time to help him. So without hesitation, Naruto leaned down and took Sasuke's lips and they kissed passionately until Sasuke had to cough again.
"Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki, I love you. Words will never be able to express how much I adore you. These past 3 years have been nothing but bliss with you. I'm sorry I'm leaving so soon, but just know I'll always be watching over you. I'll always be here for you, no matter where you are or where you stand. But listen to me, You go and become Hokage, alright? For me. For us. For you. Don't let my death hold you back from achieving your one goal. Use me as a stepping stone to achieve it. I believe in you. I always have, I always will."
Sasuke used all the strength he had left and lifted himself up, kissing Naruto one last time, "Sasuke, you'll always be in my heart. Always. I love you so much." He smiled weakly and his shaky breath came to a halt, the life in his eyes fading as his hand slipped from Naruto's face. He was gone now. His Sasuke was gone. The tears came like a river and Naruto pulled Sasuke's lifeless body closer to him. He cried and screamed. Wailed into the night sky, asking himself why the universe was so cruel and why fate was such a trickster. Just two weeks ago, they had gotten engaged, and now... It was just Naruto. It was no longer the perfect Naruto & Sasuke duo. It was only Naruto Uzumaki. The Last Uchiha had perished in the Uzumaki's arms. Ten minutes too late, the medical ninja arrived to a crying Naruto and a peacefully sleeping Sasuke.
