When The Homeless Clouds Start Vanishing-

I won't let go. He wanted to say. I've got you. I won't let go. But he couldn't form the words, he couldn't make his mouth work properly to say even that much. Couldn't do anything except to hold on to her body, slung over the edge of the wall and wait for help. He couldn't do anything and the thought permeates his brain in the form of and unyielding Mantra.

Lost in thought he didn't feel her slipping and it wasn't until he was halfway over the edge that he realized what was happening. The both of them were careening over the edge, too fast for him to conjure up a solution.

She was screaming. Crimson in the face. "Drop me!"

Drop her? He refused, all he needed was a little leverage. He needed her other arm. "Give me you other arm!"

A small crowd had gathered below and Tony could just make out the voice of a small blonde woman, calling in emergency.

"Damn it, Ziva give me your other arm!" he cried.

A fine sheen of perspiration had started to form beneath his palms and she had begun to slip even more. He knew it wouldn't been soon before she joined McGee in an untimely concrete grave.

"Fucking shit, Ziva just give me your other arm!"

Panic lit her brown eyes, they both knew that even if she were to somehow reach him with her arm that the momentum could very well be too much and send them both flailing over the brink. "Ziva, please. Please Ziv. Give me. Your other arm. Try."

She clenched her eyes shut, and gave a curt nod.

He breathed in deep to the bottom of his lungs then said, "Alright slowly."

She gently began lifting her arm from her side but before they had even gotten it up halfway they could see that it could not possibly work. She was too far down.

Her voice had become a near inaudible whisper when she spoke. "Tony…"

He could do it, he could pull her up. He wasn't going to listen to her goodbyes, not yet.

"Tony," She breathed.

He could do it! It would work, he knew it would. It had to.

"Alright Ziva, on three."

He prepared himself to the best of his ability and began his countdown. "Three…Two…One!"

His eyes began to cloud with tears as she lie still against the brick façade. "Okay, once more." He drew in a deep breath and ground his hips and knees into the rooftop "Three…Two…One!"

Her body sunk. "Alright…We are going to try once more but this time you have to give it your all…"

Her soft sobs pervaded his ears and tore through his soul. "You have to drop me. Tony, it will be alright." He could feel her slowly starting to withdraw her grasp. "I'm so sorry."

"Ziva!" he cried, "Don't you even think about it!"

"Ani ohevet otcha."

"Ziva…Please," he whimpers, "I love you, don't leave me. Hang on."

"Goodbye, Tony."

And with that she was gone, plummeting down sixteen stories and in sixteen seconds dead.
