Saccharine
His infallible determination was showcased eagerly, almost too eagerly, like he was wishing her to fail. For her to fail at her immature, saccharine attachment to her pokémon, for her fail at her childish tendencies, for her to fail at capering the world. For her to fail at squeezing her way into his heart, his mind, and his soul.
But she was too damn relentless. It was like she wanted him to lose.
He stared at her, glaring into her deep rooted, golden eyes. He had removed her Team Rocket uniform earlier, betrayed. How could she go and weasel under his nose into an organization like that? Honestly, he thought she'd choose a villainous cavalry from a far better place, like Sinnoh. At least Team Galactic had a cool name.
But he was still deceived and that angered him.
His face turning a brick red, he shouted at her, random curse words bolting out of his cherry lips. She found that instead of listening to him, she stared at his scowl, his red disconcertedness. She imagined that if he smiled more, if he let people into his own little starry world, that they might just fall for his lips. That they just might fall for the genuine goodness in his heart that she just knew was there.
First she had to make him believe in that and maybe, he'd let her in. What she didn't know, though, was that he already had.
He stopped talking, his breathing labored. Somehow she charmed that reaction out of him; damn her feminine whiles, damn them to hell.
She simply nodded at him, pushing away his berates. Her smile was lovely with rim rocked peaches and creams, the blood scouring under her skin. He could feel the pounding in his chest. She had, after all, shown him a world he had never seen.
He could only think, as she walked up the stairs into darkness, that she was his sweetest downfall.
end.
