Okay, back on track with my favorite boys in green! Fair warning, this one goes deep. I've been waiting the whole series to write this story and NOW... the hour has come! Sorry it took so long, but I was really wanting this to be perfect. (That, and life swept me up in another one of its cyclones.)

I hope you like.

}{NYC, April, 2017}{

"Up and over." Donatello shrugged as he flipped the Purple Dragon back down the alley with the end of his bo staff. He hit the back of his pal, knocking them both into the awaiting fists of Raphael. He looked up with a wicked grin. "Thanks, Donnie."

"Heads up, my brothers!" Michelangelo called out from the street. Donnie looked back and barely had time to duck before two other dragons almost knocked his head off. "Mikey!"

"Hey, can't stand the smog, get out of the alley!" Mikey laughed as he spun-kicked off of the south wall, ollied his board and caught the end of the fire escape for the third floor. He swung upside down, flashing his smile down on the group. "Heehee!"

"Since when does knocking Purple Dragons around make you so happy?" Donnie shortened his bo staff, leaving the straggling two for Leo to handle.

Mikey sighed from his perch, swinging himself onto the top of the rail. "Dude, how do you forget these things... Emma lands back on US terra firma today!"

"Technically tomorrow." Donnie rolled his eyes.

"Guys," Leo exasperated, throwing a brusied Purple Dragon at their feet. "Can we have a little focus here?"

"I think you've got that attribute covered, Fearless." Raph chuckled. His foot came down then when the dragon tried to get up. "Stay down... we just need to talk with you is all."

"I don't talk outside my species." the dragon member spit out at Raph. The brothers ignored it and Leo gestured to the apartment buildings they were squeezed between. "Why the sudden interest in anything west of 43rd street?"

The Purple dragon twiddled his thumbs, like he had been asked about his least favorite movie.

"Is this another power grab Hun's going for?" Donnie tried. "Scaring the tenants from these buildings would give you guys prime real estate... right at the Foot's back door."

"Give the freak a gold sticker." the dragon glared from smokey-eyed lashes. Raph lashed out and had the dragon hanging by his nose ring. "How 'bout I give you a body cast?!"

"Look," Donnie attempted to descalate the situation. He got tired of having to watch fist-to-cuffs every night. "All we want is some information; what's that cost you?"

"My neck." the dragon scoffed. "Other then that, not much."

"I'll see your neck." Raph got up close to his face. "And raise you every other bone in your body."

"And then some." Mikey threw in. Donnie looked up. "Mikey, there's none left after that."

"How do you know?" Mikey challenged. "I was watching Mythbusters last night-"

"Shut up!" Donnie cut him off with Leo and Raph. They would have time for setting Mickey's brain straight later; when they weren't trying to clean up the streets of NYC. Donnie spun his bo staff, sharing a glance with Leo. He could shock the guy, save Raph some energy. But he didn't prefer such methods...

"Raph already has him upside down, doesn't he."

Leo's eyes looked over uneventfully. "Yep, sure does."

"A little higher, bro." Mikey hopped back and forth, taking a boxer's stance. "I only got in two hours of target practice today."

Raph grinned and dangled the purple dragon out a bit farther. "It's more points if you hit 'em between the legs."

"Seriously!?" the dragon tried to wrangle himself free. He twisted his neck to eye Leo and Donnie. "You guys gonna sit there and let this happen!"

"Oh, so we're 'guys' now." Leo angled himself on the wall, where he'd have a good view of the show. "I wouldn't worry though, sweetheart. His aim just started improving."

The purple dragon seethed, the blood flushing his cheeks a deep crimson. "I couldn't tell you anything if I wanted to! You know what Hun does to squealers?"

"There won't be much left for him where we're done with you." Raph shrugged, swinging him closer to Mikey's waiting fists. "Last chance, man."

We aren't really giving him many logical options. Donnie realized. But since when do the Purple Dragons operate on logic?

His hypothesis was proven correct, as it only took two of Mikey's left jabs to get the purple dragon squealing like a stuffed pig.

"Hun's being real tight-lipped about it." the guy gasped as Raph righted him to face the group. "But..." he braced himself on his knees to catch his breath. He pointed back out of the alley. The brothers turned to follow his finger. Donnie adjusted his goggles... all he could see was the wall of the apartment building across the street.

"That apartment building is Hun's latest community project." the dragon went on with Raph's sai at his throat. "We're to clear it out, scare the tenants out of their leases. It's taken a month to buy several of them off, but the ones that won't go-"

"Well why would they?" Mikey shook his head. "You know the minimum in property values east of Coney Island?"

"And you do?" Donnie scoffed at him. This part of town wasn't Fifth Avenue, but if there was one thing New Yorkers fought for, it was their right to live where they pleased. Donnie glared back at their POW. "Those two guys that went to the hospital; your gang put them there."

"Hey, if they don't listen to reason-"

Leo kicked him from behind, putting him on his knees. "Bribing doesn't work, so you up the ante. Why? Why this building?"

"I don't know, alright." the guy spat, clearly frustrated with his predicament. "Maybe Hun needs it for a new hideout. He's doubled our trade-ins on the black market, he could just need more space to store it."

The brothers looked at one another, hardly convinced of that. Terrorize three city blocks for some extra closet space? There was more to it then that; but this was New York. When wasn't it like that?

"And you just... do it?" Mikey frowned down at the purple dragon. "Some guy says 'jump' and you ask 'how high'? Great life goals, pal."

"Don't see you reaching for the stars, sea slime," the dragon growled back. "Unless you wanna donate your freak body to the nearest science lab."

"Beat it!" Raph picked the purple dragon up and flung him toward the opening of the alley. He skidded and dashed up the street; none of them chased him. Donnie already knew where the Purple Dragons 'secret' headquarters were. They'd probably spend their next few night staking it out... again. He looked back at Leo. "Not much we can give April."

"But we have a focal point now." Leo's eyes were zeroed in on the apartment building, half of its lights still on at two in the morning. Were they scared to lay down in their own beds? Did they stay up, holding baseball bats or guns to their sides? The parent, the brother, the aunt, keeping themselves between the dragons and their family.

"I'll text her the address." Mikey volunteered. "She'll head out there first thing tomorrow morning..." He swung back up to the fire escape. "Better yet, I can go by her and Casey's and give them the news..."

"Emma's flight doesn't get in until this afternoon, Mikey." Donnie rolled his eyes.

"Good point-" Mikey fumbled on the bars. "I should just wait at the airport and text April from there."

They all groaned.

"I can't wait for Emma to get here." Raph admitted as they headed for the rooftops. "Cuse then he'll finally shut up!"
