CHAPTER 1

April, 12th. My birthday. It was AMAZING. Until, last night. My brother, Michael, screamed. His loud shriek echoed through the large and nearly empty halls. He stood and shook in fear. His bright, blue eyes were now filled with fear and curiosity. Tonight, was the night it all started.

Ever since that day, my brother was never the same. He always plays alone on the swing, laughing. Like someone's there. Sometimes he goes out and stands on the grass. Waiting. Waiting. For what you say? He calls it, Esther.

It got worst everyday, he was 5 when it started and I was 7. He's 10 now, how old am I now? Do the numbers yourself.. Now, let me continue. He was so distant since that day. He became a boy with few words. It surrounded our family with sorrow and curiosity.

April 22nd 2009, My parents were out of town for a business trip, the lights went off and.. I saw it. It made a cracking sound with every move. Michael giggled and followed it. I started to shiver. I tried to scream but... My mouth.. It felt as though it was taped shut. It stared at me. Its cold lifeless black eyes stared at my dull blue ones. My heart beat faster with every passing second. I shut my eyes tightly, waiting..for the end. "come down!" He said. It stopped and after a while, started to come down. I slowly backed away, calling Michael, "MICHAEL! Get back!" He, just giggled and walked closely to it. He seems so innocent. biting the collar of his shirt, giggling every now and then. It, grab hold of him. Suddenly, my eyes felt so heavy, "Michael," I said, before I closed my eyes and fell to the ground with a loud thud. And when I woke up, he was gone. That was the last time I saw, my brother, Michael Heart.

It's been 3 years since the accident. My shoulder length, blond hair is now waist length, My light blue eyes are now lifeless. My eyes resembled my brothers. That's why I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. Sometimes I could hear him. Giggling. Laughing. His footsteps.

"I'm home" I shouted to... Well, practically no one. I sighed and went to the bathroom for a nice relaxing shower.

I stepped inside the tub and I closed my eyes and..there it is again. 'Michael. Michael. Where are you?' I thought. "Annie." My eyes shot open as my name was called, that voice!

In front of me stood none other than, Michael. "M-Michael?" A smile graced his features, "Annie~" he said, his voice raising goose bumps on my skin.

His smile.

His voice.

His hair.

Him.

Everything about him scared the hell out of me. "Get away!" I shouted, as I started to shiver. "Why, Annie?" He whispered, "Why didn't you save me? WHY ANNIE, WHY!" His voice started to get bigger and louder as he kept repeating those words like a chant. I started to weep and I hugged my knees. "Please," I whispered, "just go away."

A smirk formed on his small, pale face, "I'll be back, my dear, Annie." And with that..

He disappeared.
