"Nat-su-me!"
Her voice was the sweetest. I never really knew when I started thinking about her or how I began imagining how pleasant it felt to hear her say my name. It just naturally happened.
"Senpai."
But for her, I was just someone from the same club and the fact that I am two years younger than her made the gap a whole lot wider.
"About later…"
"What about later?"
She walks around school confidently wearing her perfect smile. No matter how crowded the halls get, it always feels empty each time I see her.
"Don't get mad, okay? You see, today is a very special day. You do know seniors have the busiest schedules, right?"
We've known each other for approximately a year but in that span of time, I already know a lot of things about her- like how she beats around the bush before saying what she really wants to say when she asks for a favor or how she likes munching on nuts when she walks home or when we're practicing for a presentation, she'd always listen to other songs on her earphones while rehearsing. Because when you like someone, even the most insignificant things matter.
"Plus, the school festival is quickly approaching which means more dance practices for us. We could even pull an all-nighter because of it! I barely have time for my family and friends."
Sometimes, she becomes so predictable. However, when she does something you'd never imagine her do, I find myself getting attracted to her even more.
"You want to postpone our dance practice today. Is that it, senpai?"
No matter how I try to look away, I constantly end up looking at her anyway.
"Sorry for this, Natsume. I promise to make it up to you! I'll practice twice as much the next time! You have my word for it."
It doesn't take much to realize that I've become weak when it's her.
"I can't do anything about it even if I won't agree. Same place, same time next week. I'll work on my part of the dance after class and maybe do some minor changes in the choreography."
When we're dancing together, I, at times, would show my best, even better than best when performing because I wanted her to notice me. I wanted to tell her how I'm doing those just to impress her.
"As long as you won't hog the stage and get all the attention. Kidding! I really, really need to go now."
I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up falling in love with her. She's the girl I'd want to hold in my arms and tell her how important she is. But I don't have the guts to do that just yet.
"He's waiting for me outside! Thank you, Natsume! Really, I owe you big time."
Because Mikan Sakura is Tsubasa Andou's girlfriend.
