I Am Legend Fanfic.
Chapter One.
I glanced around the basement and sighed. Dead rats, papers and empty test tubes lay scattered around the floor around me. I sat on the cold, hard floor of the basement looking around.
I had tried everything I could think of. I was running out of ideas and rats. The only rat I had left was Buddy and I wasn't willing to let him go just let. I hoped it wouldn't ever get to that stage.
I flinched at Buddy ran up my arm and onto my shoulder. He curled up there and fell asleep soon. I smiled weakly as I watched him sleep. I wondered for a second how he could sleep surrounded by this. Yet he was unfazed.
I sighed and wondered how I was going to clean all this up while Buddy slept. He had just helped me with the last bunch of tests and I didn't want to disturb him. As if he heard my thoughts he got up and ran over to the little house I had built him. It was just a wooden box with some pillows inside it but he loved it.
"Thanks Buddy." I muttered when I glanced around the room again. I walked over to the nearest pile of papers and started picking them up. They were all notes on my attempts at a cure but none had been successful. I sighed and walked over to my small table with the papers in my arms, then dumped them there. I pushed my black hair behind my ear and turned to survey the room. There were still heaps of papers all over the room, dead rats and smashed and empty test tubes. I had three desks. One had my old computers on it, an old large white one and a black laptop. The other two desks were covered in papers, including the one I had just put papers on.
I walked over to the nearest pile of papers and test tubes and picked them all up. I walked back over to the desk and put them there.
I did this until there was nothing left on the floor. I then walked over to my bed which was pushed against the left wall. I slumped down on it and closed my eyes. I slowly peeled them open and glanced at the old watch on my right wrist. It read 7:56 meaning it would be dark soon. I yawned and closed my eyes again. I couldn't sleep so I turned over and tried to get comfortable. It took a lot of difficulty but eventually I ended up laying straight with my knees up.
I yawned again and soon feel asleep with the sounds of scrapping claws and screaming.
