Please enjoy a little Will and Alicia moment. We don't have much to work with these days, so I'm doing all I can with what we're given!
Disclaimer: No, I don't own these characters. If I did, you'd have seen this scene in the episode. I rest my case.
Will tried to still his heartbeat as he walked back toward his office. He avoided eye contact with all he passed in the hall. He wanted a moment of privacy. He didn't want anyone interrupting his thoughts at the moment.
Just a few brief seconds ago, she had whispered in his ear. He'd felt her breath on his neck, just as he had on other, more intimate, occasions. The nearness to her was enough to excite him, to awaken those memories and emotions he had been trying his darnedest to suppress.
He shut the door to his office. He sat himself down on his couch, lost in thought. His fingers laced across his stomach, his feet resting on the table, he pondered her two words.
"Thank you," she'd said. What did that mean exactly? Thank you for bringing the credit back to her? Thank you for the attention within the firm? Thank you for helping her, as he always seemed to do? Thank you for the resolution of the awkwardness between them? Thank you for those short months they had shared together?
He could only assume she meant the first, that she thanked him for not allowing Caitlin to assume all of the credit for their shared work. Diane's decision to promote Caitlin was a slap in the face to Alicia. He wouldn't have allowed it if he were involved in the decision. He knew there was a lot of stress on the firm at the moment, but unfair HR practices wouldn't help them in the long run.
He took a luxurious moment to run through those past whispers in his mind. When she'd whispered, "Do that again," in a husky voice in the Presidential suite. A kiss on the cheek and "See you tomorrow" in his ear before leaving his apartment, where they'd shared a steamy session against the wall in his kitchen. The muffled moans against his neck in the bathroom off of his office. A sweet goodbye as she slipped out of his bed to return home to her children. "I'll miss you," as she bid him her final goodbye.
The encounter just now plays slowly before him. The glance she gave him across the conference room as she responded to his question. How it appeared she would pass by him as she left, just like any other day at the office. Her slight hesitation as she leaned into him. The tone in her voice and the warmth her words left on his skin. His glimpse of her as she walked away.
He hoped that no one had seen them, that no one would suspect anything. It didn't really matter anyway, did it? It was over now, there was nothing for anyone to suspect.
He wished he had a drink in his hand now. He wished he had her in hands. He longed for just a little bit of her. To look up and see her in the hallway now. To work side by side with her on a case. He secretly wished she would reveal just a bit more cleavage than normal, just for him.
That is how it always seemed to happen between them. She always left him wanting more. She always left him. Wanting more and more each time.
