Because Gina on dA gave me a good idea… and then I destroyed it with my terrible writing skills ;_; This seriously did not go the way I had hoped it would... but I'm kinda fail at changing things...

"Seriously, Hattori, why'd you switch them?" Conan said into the phone, the irritation in his voice obvious. He heard the man he addressed laugh at the question. "Wha'da'ya mean? I switch 'em t' get back at ya fer bein' a pain in the ass b'fore."

Conan pulled the phone away from his ear enough to glare at it, hoping Hattori could feel it on the other side. After a few moments of silence Hattori stated he'd hang up if Kudo didn't say something soon. "Idiot." Conan said simply. "I know there's more to it than that. Sure, it's something you'd probably do but…"

"But what?" Conan could practically hear the grin on Hattori's face. He knew what he was thinking… and Conan did not like that.

"But the fact you asked if they looked good on me is a little suspicious," Conan blushed a little, "D-do you actually want to see me wear them…?" Hattori sighed, but he still laughed, "Wouldn't that be impossible? 'Less ya got yer ears pierced without tellin' me."

Conan pouted, "You know what I mean…" he sighed and then restated his question. "If… it were possible, would you want to see me wear them…?" Secretly, he was really asking a different question, but he had to try his hardest to hide it. Or else Hattori might find out how he really felt about him.

Hattori was quiet for a bit, "I-I guess? I mean, it'd be pretty funny t' see ya wearin' 'em." He'd tried to cover the stutter at the beginning, but Conan heard it loud and clear. It made him smile. Hattori was blushing, and he knew it.

"Hattori…" Conan smiled into the receiver, "that's not all, is it?" he more stated than asked. His smile widened at Hattori's pathetic attempts to say something back to him.

"Wh-wh-wha'da'ya mean? Th-that's all. I-it was just a joke! Nothin' more 'n that, 'kay?"

"Liar."

"I-I ain't-"

"Yes, you are," Conan said in a serious voice. "You're lying. So tell me, why'd you do it?"

Hattori groaned uncomfortably, "Kudo, I ain't… I ain't ready t' tell ya, okay?"

"Then…" Conan blushed again, "I was right…" He heard Hattori make some more uncomfortable noises, but just laughed at him to try and easy the tension. "It's okay, I like you, too."

"Ku…Kudo…" Hattori was blushing again. Conan smiled imagining it, he was so cute. "B-but how'd ya-"

"'Cause you make it way too obvious, with just about everything you do. I'd be an idiot not to notice." Conan shifted the phone to his other ear before continuing, "But… why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Shouldn't I be askin' you the same thing?" Hattori laughed a bit before sighing. "I di'n't tell ya 'cause I wanted t' wait 'til ya got yer real body back… 'Cause it's just too weird bein' in love with a little kid…"

Conan laughed at him, "And what if I never got my body back and was stuck as 'Conan' for the rest of my life?"

"Then I'd'a told ya when ya were of age. If I still liked ya by then… B-but now… I… don't wanna take it anywhere 'til I can have ya older."

"Agreed. I wouldn't want you to be arrested for pedophilia."

"Augh, makes me sick jus' thinkin' 'bout it." Conan could hear Hattori shudder through the phone, "'Kay, so when ya get yer real body back, you hafta go on a date with me."

"… Okay."

"Well… bye, then. Fer now."

"… Bye." Conan closed his cell phone when he was sure Hattori had hung first. Leaning back he stared at the jewelry box that had the earrings in it. "I hope he doesn't expect me to cross-dress for him. Because I'll kill him if he does. But… then why… Oh God, don't tell me he wants…

"Me to be his bride?"
