Yellow Toad's Employment

When Blue Toad goes off to be filmed in 3D World, Yellow is left behind. Can finding a job help him deal with the fact he may be getting sacked for good? First chapter is more serious, but the later ones I'll try to make more lighthearted. Also my first fic! K for possible later situations.

Yellow Toad was angry. He felt mad more than dying at ninety-nine lives or falling into lava at the end of a Bowser fight. He was rage-filled more than failing at a simple jump over and over or having your brother throw you into a hole. He was feeling the resent that Yoshi had when he was left to fall into a pit.

Needless to say, he was seething.

Just an hour ago, his brother Blue Toad (But he insisted to be called Da Blue by his friends.) had left for the filming of Super Mario 3D World. It seemed that the almighty creator Nintendo decided that the damsel in distress was more important as a playable character than he, and so was left in the dust.

Just before he left, Blue tried to reassure his sibling that he wasn't being abandoned.

"Look man, think of it this way. I'm getting the spotlight for now because when the next game rolls around, you'll be the focus!"

Yellow Toad wasn't buying it. "I appreciate what you're doing, Blue, but the best that will happen to me is that I'll be in spinoffs. SPINOFFS! Do you know how hard Daisy took that!? I don't want the same fate!"

Blue shook his fungal head. "Okay, dude. Keep thinking that and maybe you'll become a poison mushroom." He laughed. "But seriously. Try getting a job or something. It'll keep you mind off of this and you'll have some extra coinage!"

Yellow then looked out of their shared bedroom window. "Oh. There's your warp pipe."

Blue followed his stare. "Man! Right on time! Well, I guess I'll be seeing ya!"

Yellow responded with a half-hearted, "See ya."

Blue then grabbed his bag and ran as fast as his stubby legs could into the sleek black warp pipe waiting in their front yard. It retracted as soon as Blue entered to stop the screaming with joy fan-toad behind him.

Yellow watched, alone with his bitterness and jealousy. He shook most of it off.

"A job, huh? Well, I have nothing better to do."

And so, ladies and goombas, my first entry in Fanfiction has been read! Apologies if this chapter is on the short side. Its main purpose is to set up the plot. I got this idea when I saw that Fire Toad's colour scheme in 3D World is the same as Yellow's in Wii and U. This is Bossrunner456, and, um… FLOOR ICE CREAM GIVES YOU HEALTH!
