I do not own the Gallagher Girls series.

3 Bullets to the Chest

"She shot me," Mr. Goode stated "in the chest, three times." The sun was bright and hot as the two men strolled down the street. It was an odd day to Mr. Goode; he had never been in this kind of situation before in his life. It was as if he was looking on at what was happening instead of actually living it, feeling it, believing it. It was weird he was giving advice to others about relationships when all of his was a train wreck, but nonetheless he was.

"She did it because they were testing her, testing her loyalty to them. She had to choose between them and me, in the end she chose them." His eyes glazed over with the memory of that day. "She came barging in through the door with the gun aimed directly at my chest. And with no comforting words or explanation she shot me. The only thing she left me with was a look of pure terror, sorrow, determination and love." Finally coming out of his memory, Mr. Goode looked over at the man beside him. He remembered when he was just a boy and looking at him now Mr. Goode realized how much he has grown in time. He was a man know, a man with a broken heart.

"I want to show you something. " Mr. Goode said turning to the man and pulling down his shirt just a little. When the man looked he saw three scares all close together on the right side of his chest. "This is where she shot me, not even close to the heart. When I woke up, I knew she still loved me." At this the man's eyebrows shot up and he had a look in his eyes that said are you insane. Mr. Goode just laughed a little and placed his shirt back in place. "I knew she still loved me because if she didn't the bullets would have been here," Mr. Goode taped the side of his head and looked to the man.

For the first time the man said something "two to the chest, one to the head." He stared off into the distance and whether either one of the men liked it or not they had come to the conclusion that both of them were still hopelessly in love.

Mr. Goode turned to his son and said "Zach, you are my only child, and I hardly ever get to see you, but I love you more than you know. So I am telling you as your father to chase after her and do whatever you need to do to get her back and protect her. As a member of the organization that is trying to capture I will say that we will do anything to get her and get what we need from her. I advise you to tread carefully." Mr. Goode looked down at his son and saw determination in his eyes.

"Thanks Dad." With that he briskly walked around the corner and out of sight. Mr. Goode watched his son leave and thought back to when he was a little boy and swore girls were "the stupidest thing ever and they have coodies" the words that came out of Zach's mouth then how disgust all over then and his nose was wrinkled. A small smirk came across Mr. Goode's face as he put on his hat, stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked to his car.
