Introduction
Misa screamed in delight of the sight of her in the long, sparkling white dress she knew so well. Finally, the day was hers, and she was allowed to do anything she wanted to with it. Of course, she has seen her handsome Light in a suit before, but he was simply just too dashing to ignore any longer. She couldn't contain her emotion and ran into a sprint down the long and overly decorated white aisle, her red roses in one hand, her dress held up, so that she may run, in her other.
Light chuckled lightly to himself having watched Misa do so, and held out open arms for his beautiful Kira princess. He glanced over quickly at his best man who could really only be described in one, overly used letter; L. He turned back away from him. Soon, his goals and tasks of his new 'Justice' would be complete, allowing him to rule the world as he pleased. It wouldn't matter if L knew he was Kira after that. In fact, he was quiet sure he'd brag about the subject.
Misa didn't run into his arms; instead she ran to the other side of the alter, giggling and blushing all at once. Then he felt guilt rise over him- Misa was defiantly and completely way too innocent to be in this at all, nonetheless be a killer commanded by her husband. It was sad, really. Such a remarkable talent as herself would be going to waist when she could be happy- living her life the way SHE wanted to, not because she didn't want to be found out as Kira. But, there was no turning back now. Light let his arms hang back down at his side, breathing in deeply as he did.
"Do you, Light Yagami…"
He blanked out most of the words the priest had, he assumed, repeated so many times in his life, and glanced back at L. Ryuzaki, as everyone called him here, shifted uncomfortably at the sight of Matsuda walking down the aisle to bring the late wedding bands on a silk red pillow. Obviously, he had not expected Misa to run to Light so quickly. She hadn't even allowed the Wedding March to play.
"…Light?" Misa's words were soft pitched, and if he didn't know better, he'd say she sounded like she was shaking. He turned back to her with a reassuring smile.
"I do."
"And do you, Misa Amane-"
"I do!!"
The priest, as serious as he was, could not contain his quick chuckles.
"Then by the power invested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
She giggled and squealed as Light hoisted her up in his arms, kissing her intensely, as if it would be their last. It rained rice as he ran out of the church, he cradled her in his arms.
Less than a year later, Kira became the supreme ruler of his 'New World', but it wouldn't be enough.
It's never enough.
