This is my first fanfiction I have ever posted so just know that I am an amateur. I really hope you like it!

Disclaimer: I do not own anything! The Hobbit and all the characters belong to J.R.R. Tolkein. I own only Andromeda.

Dear Diary,

I know that you're just a book but there's no one else to talk to for they would think me mad. I dream to travel the whole of Middle Earth. I desire to see the elven cities of the great halls of the dwarves. I yearn to do something bold and daring. I wish to travel, live, love… but my father is so against it. Actually everyone in the Shire is. Apparently it is not normal for a Hobbit to journey past the borders of the Shire... but how wonderful it would be. Father sent me to bed without supper last night because I brought it up. He said, 'I will have no discussion of such nonsense at my house, at my table! You are a Hobbit and a Baggins and there will be no adventures for you now, nor ever!' He then proceeded to send me to my room. Maybe I will try next week… until next time diary…

~Andromeda Celestial Baggins

As I was putting my diary and writing utensils away, I heard a voice call my name.

"Andromeda! Could you be a dear and go to the market for me? We're almost out of cheese!" My father didn't really like leaving our home so he usually asked me to go to the market to get food or clothes or whatever we needed. Not that I minded really. I loved my father to death and since it was just the two of us, well, we're all we got.

"Andromeda?" He called, thinking I hadn't heard him.

"Of course!" I yelled back, opening my door and walking out. I walked into the living area to where my dad was seated, reading a book. I held my hand out and when he didn't look up, I cleared my throat, startling him.

He looked at my hand and looked back up at me. "What?"

I rolled my eyes but smiled. "I will need some money of course."

"Oh yes, of course," he chuckled, reaching into his pocket and handing me some coins. He stood up and hugged me before handing me a paper. "Here is a list of things we will need. Be safe Andromeda. I love you."

I gave him another hug. "I love you too."

I pulled away and walked to the door. I opened and with one last smile, departed to the market.
