Draco Malfoy liked being on top. He was, after all, a Malfoy and Malfoys are meant to be on top. Draco Malfoy didn't like the idea of being second, or third, or fourth. Not in any circumstance.
So when Hermione Granger, being the insufferable know-it-all, got the title of the "brightest witch" of their age, he hated it.
When Potter turned out to be a really good seeker, he just had to beat him, with his Nimbus 2001 of course.
He liked the number 1.
So when the weasel was hitting on mudblood Granger, he just had to make his life miserable, right? He wouldn't lose to a weasel.
Ferrets always win over weasels.
Malfoys are meant to be number 1.
So when Weasley broke Granger's heart, he took the chance.
Weasley will regret everything he did.
That's because Draco would obviously make him regret. Draco Malfoy would make him eat slugsā¦again. No one makes HIS mudblood cry.
So Draco Malfoy earned a lot of wide-eyed stares as he walked down the hallway, his hands intertwined with Granger's. He was number one.
He was, after all, the number 1 in the heart of the brightest witch of their age, wasn't he?
He'd let that pass. He was still number one.
If his girl is the brightest witch, he's the brightest wizard.
What a wonderful pair!
He smirked as they passed Weasley, his girlfriend, Brown, trailing behind him. She pretty much reminded him of Pansy, only ten times more annoying. He put his arm around Granger when he saw Weasley's shocked expression.
He pitied Weasley. And with a sigh, he faced Hermione. "Granger"
"Hmm?" Granger looked up at him.
"You're an insufferable know-it-all, a bloody Gryffindor mudblood, but you're my mudblood" he winked.
That was the closest thing he could get to being sweet.
Hermione Granger rolled her eyes and smiled, "And you're an annoying prat, a pompous git, an arrogant ferret, but you're my ferret."
What a wonderful pair!
