A/N: Why hello there! This is my first fanfic, so I thought that I'd keep it short and sweet. I have been reading the site for years, so I'm very excited to even be writing this author's note! Anyway, this little drabble was inspired by The Legend of Korra, Season 1, Episode 2: A Leaf in the Wind, upon Korra's first meeting/impression of Mako in the Pro-Bending Arena. I know its rough, but let me know what you think. Also, please excuse any spelling/grammatical mistakes. Reviews are love. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Legend of Korra
Winter Sun
She disliked how cold he was. She herself was a living and burning flame, stubborn and reckless and brash and full of life. She shone brightly, her "flames" licking and burning anyone who saw her or came into contact with her. So when she met him, a fellow firebender, she expected to meet someone with a fire and burn that matched her own. Instead, she was met with a cold and unfeeling demeanor. He was much like the winter sun that hung dully in the sky in her native Southern Water Tribe, shining white hot yet providing little warmth. Yet as she watched the red-hot orange and yellow flames burst from his hands and feet, flaming through the air, leaving streaks and sparks in their wake, and smashing into his opponents; she thought that maybe, just maybe, he had an inner fire that outshone her own.
