This was a short drabble written for a contest which I read the prompt wrong so I couldn't submit it. As always my props goes out to my beta who keeps my stories looking great.***
Draco looked down upon the parchment in front of him with a smile before taking a casual glance at the colors that made up his study. The parchment was from his son at Hogwarts and had been a punishment from McGonagall about things he should not say. Draco'd had a lot of those moments over the years, he thought with a chuckle, such as the night he had told Scorpio that he could have chocolate cake fifteen minutes before bed time. Oh, his wife had surely loved that idea.
Draco grinned as he wrote in jest upon a spare piece of parchment the other things he should not say. 'Draco should not say yes to a purchase when he has only been paying half attention.' He said as he gave an eye to the English Bulldog who slept lazily away upon another chair within the study. "You're good-for-nothing, you know that, right?" Draco said to the dog, who just turned his head as if to say 'who, me?' Draco just laughed and turned to look at his study, which was filled with many pictures of his family.
Looking around at the pictures, Draco leaned back in his chair as he thought of the many, many things he should not have said over the years. He then leaned forward and looked at the picture of his wife upon his desk. She was in her wedding gown the day they were married. He became lost in thought as she danced and turned around within the picture. So much that he didn't see her come in till her arms were wrapped around his neck.
"Things you shouldn't say, Draco?" She asked with a whisper in his ear. "Oh, I could name so many." She said with a hint of playfulness. "That list isn't nearly complete. You should include any and all swear words," she said, reminding him of the night that Victor Krum's team won the world cup for the fifth time.
"How about four words I should say more often?" he asked as he turned around in his chair and pulled her down upon his lap. "I love you, Hermione Malfoy," he said with a tender kiss.
"That's five words, Draco," Hermione said with another kiss. Neither paid attention to the dog as he quickly made his exit from the two lovers.
