Miley Stevens, 17, knows what it takes. When she is offered a spot for Hollywood records, but can't afford a plane ticket, she has to travel with three unexpected people. At school, she is considered a no one. No one likes her, and that's cuz she is so focused on her music. She is from Boston. She goes to an all girl's school. She lives with her older sister, Ashley.
Joe Lucus, 18, finally gets his big break with his brothers, but when his brothers arrive late for there flight, they end up taking a road trip with a beautiful, fun loving, girl named Mandy Stevens.
Nick Lucus, 16, is a very serious boy who loves to write music. He has ever since he was six. He is from Providence Rhode Island along with his brothers and falls in love very easily.
Kevin Lucus, 20, is the oldest brother of Nick and Joe and is considered the parenting figure of them both since there parents were killed in a freak accident that only Kevin knows what the accident was. Kevin is known for being really shy, and he does not share the fact that he can sing with his brothers, instead he just tells them he loves to play guitar, and he does. Kevin can be very sensitive and it is really hard for him not to cry at something sad. He doesn't like to yell. Joe and he don't get along that well. Usually when they talk, Joe is yelling.
These people haven't met at all yet. When problems happen with the plane ride, they meet and decided that they could rent a bus and Kevin could drive. There is only one problem though, there are people stopping them from getting to Hollywood in three weeks.
Avril Jones, 17, is Miley Stevens ex best friend. When seventh grade started for the two, Avril became the most popular girl in school. Avril is jealous of Miley because every year she beats Miley at the school talent show, and she believes that she is better than her.
Taylor Smith, 19, is an old flame of Kevin's. Kevin had broken up with her over the phone, which broke her heart. She never got over Kevin and is still madly in love with him. She also though hates him very much sometimes. She also is jealous. She really isn't a mean person, but when she meets Avril, they team up to make sure the four don't get to Hollywood in time. She doesn't agree with what Avril is doing, but she knows that it will get Kevin's attention.
