The city of Fillydelphia is considered to be an in between. Not as big as the grand metropolis Manehatten, but larger than smaller, more rural towns like Ponyville or Appleloosa.
Ponies of all sorts trotted or galloped across the city, keeping to themselves or catching up with others. One mare in particular was doing none of that but instead flew. Her coat was a kelly green, her long mane a softer shade of said color with a viridian streaks running through it, her eyes sporting the same color. Flapping her wings quickly, she tried to keep the bag in her mouth steady, but it continued to hit her neck. Her long tail swished quickly in irritation despite the wind doing that for her.
Thankfully, her destination, an opened window to an apartment, was speeding up to her quickly. Unceremoniously flying in, she knocked over a lamp placed by said window. It would've shattered, had it not been suspended in an emerald aura and placed back onto its window sill.
The Pegasus settled into a comfy dull aqua couch, happily grabbing something out of the bag, an apple fritter. She took a bite out it before another pony walked up to her, stopping her in a mid chew.
It was another mare, a unicorn. She had a green tea colored coat, with medium length hair in a dull harlequin green with thick emerald streaks going through it. Her eyes had an emerald color to it as well, but it was showing slight disapproval to the Pegasus looking back at her. After a long pause, the unicorn's small tail twitched for a moment before sighing.
"You really shouldn't fly through the window," she chastised. "That lamp is going to break the one day I'm not here to stop it."
"Oh c'mon Emmy," the Pegasus talked with her mouthful. "I can fly more carefully, I was just excited about these apple fritters delivered from Ponyville. They're really good."
"Viridian Rush," the unicorn shook her head. "At some point you're going to need to pay attention."
"I'll do that when I feel like it, Emerald Light." Viridian teasingly mimicked her tone before taking another bite of the fritter. "Oh gosh this tastes good."
The unicorn suspended a fritter with her magic, thinking for a second before taking a bite out of it. She paused, surprised at the flavor of the pastry and quickly finished it.
"Fine. What we need to do is prepare for the annual parade of Fillydelphia. As the performers for the event, we need to get ready." Emerald wiped off a few crumbs from her mouth.
"Pshhh," Virdi waved her hoof. "We've got it in the bag, we don't need to practice nothin."
"Yes we do. If any of my firework spells go wrong, I could burn you! And you need to make sure that the sparks look good in the air."
"That's never happened and it never will." The Pegasus lazily sprawled herself on the couch. "You worry too much, Emmy. Anyhoooos, what's there to watch on tv?"
"The reason why that's never happened is because we rehearse."
"Gahhhhhhh fiiiiiine."
"We'll practice tomorrow," Emerald walked towards the kitchen. "Oh and there's a few movies showing right now on a couple channels. I kinda liked some of them."
"Oh cool! Wait...if you like it, that means it's a sappy movie!"
A/N: This is a bit of a short story really. Just a little something I wanted to write ^^
I couldn't think of a holiday so I just went with a parade :P
