Orbs of Emerald
Green. That beautiful green that had haunted Severus' dreams for years. That very green was now looking at him, full of fear and confusion. Even as he lay battered and bleeding on the floor her couldn't escape the gaze of those beautiful emeralds. They mesmerized him and pulled him into memories he had hoped to forget. Images of her, his only love in his years of life, flashed in front of his eyes. All of the moments he secretly coveted with the emerald eyed beauty danced through his memory. The fading potions master was called back to his sad reality by those same eyes. He wasn't going to live and knew it, yet he didn't care. Life still filled those emerald spheres, she he had done what he promised to do. Her son still lived. As he let his memories spill out of him, his vision was fading to nothing. Darkness filled his sight, yet he kept his gaze locked on the constant in his life, that green. When he finally let go of his last thread of life, he was again met with the same emerald orbs. This time, they were smiling at him, accompanied by open arms.
