As I Wonder

Raven leered out her window in wonder. It had been 9 months and 11 days since the tower was struck and all she could think about was why. Why had they attacked her house? Why was she the only survivor? Contemplating this would be useless. She went downstairs to the kitchen and took some tea She took it outside and drank it as she normally did and stared off. She'd have to find a home soon. She couldn't stay in a hotel for the rest of her life. She heard footsteps from behind her. She turned to see Slade also sitting down, but unlike her he was contemplating how he would get rid of the Titans. Raven couldn't help but find this amusing. The Titans were dead and he didn't know it. Some criminal genius. Raven finished her tea and took it back in.
Meanwhile, another, less familiar face, was wondering why his team had been killed on the same day as the Titans. He wondered what they had done. He wondered exactly why the tower was destroyed. He leaned back. 'Don't give up just yet,' said a voice in his head, 'You'll find a way around all of this.' He climbed downstairs to see Slade sitting there. He went into the kitchen and got himself a basic breakfast of toast. He ate it, and while he did he noticed a mysterious, dark, and also rather beautiful girl walk by. 'Wait,' said that voice again, 'Hang on, isn't that Raven, the Titan?' He finished his toast and walked outside, launching himself at a tree. He looked down at the world from the top.
Raven leaned against the wall watching the world. Suddenly, an arm wrapped around her throat. She looked up to see a man in solid black there, wearing a ski mask.
"Don't move or you'll die."
Raven hoped someone would help her for one second.
SHIIIIIING!
A cloaked figure appeared from the top of a tree and sliced through the man.
"No, Black Cat, your dead!"
"Am I?"
The man died.
"Raven, you know what happened 9 months and 11 days ago?"
"My home and the Titans were destroyed."
"Yes. It happened to me too. It also happened to Hawkgirl from the Justice League and Cyclops from the X-men. I feel it necessary to build up a rebellion to the evil that has done this."
"I shall join you."
