It seemed like just yesterday… even though it was years ago. The day she lost everything. Amy Fields still remembered that day.

Flashback – 4 years ago

It was a quiet summer's day in West Virginia. Her family was packing boxes to move into a small town called Mystic Falls hoping for a fresh start. Well most of her family anyway. She loved her school, her friends, and her life here. She wasn't ready to give that all up. She just wished that something could stop it from happening. Little did she know that her fate would soon change? Her older brother Matthew and her father had just left the house to go buy some groceries. Amy sat upstairs looking at old photographs of her family and friends here. She couldn't just let her life slip away. Suddenly she heard a sharp piercing scream from downstairs. She knew that scream….her mother! Amy frantically ran down the stairs. But it was too late. At the bottom of the staircase laid her mother's limp body and a man with dark hair was drinking from her neck. The man noticed her presence and escaped with inhuman speed. Amy's head was spinning and spinning what had she just seen? All she could remember was his dark hair and a flash of ice blue eyes.

Two hours later, Amy was all alone in the police station. Her brother and father were currently being questioned. The police seemed to think she was in shock. They didn't even try to listen to her after she brought up the whole vampire thing. Some people actually thought Amy was the killer. Amy was confused, confused why this happened. Why would someone just take her whole world like this? What did she need to get over this? Closure? Her mother back? Then she realized what she really needed….revenge. All Amy wanted was revenge, revenge on this man, wait not man, vampire. And she was going to find out how to get it.

End of Flashback

But that was years ago. Amy had almost lost complete hope on finding the murderer. All this time, she had obsessed over vampires and how she would avenge her mother when the time came. She trained for this and had already slayed countless vampires. But one whole in her plan always appeared. She never found the right vampire to turn the plan on. Sometimes she thought she was crazy just like her brother and father thought. Her brother was now at college far away in California. Amy still lived with her father but he hardly paid attention to her anyway. He was deeply depressed over her mother's untimely death. Amy was 18 and a senior at Mystic Falls High. Despite her rocky past, Amy was a good student and did well in school. She still missed her mother greatly everyday though. Amy never thought her efforts were going to pay off but tomorrow was Amy's first day of senior year and she was determined to make it the best one yet.
