Kara' POV- on Krypton

I never would have thought time travel would be even possible. But here I am, mostly, on a planet that will be destroyed in the very near future from my calculations.

"Kara, you know we love you and trust you with our lives. Which is exactly why I entrust you with our son, Kal-El." Aunt Lara's words still ring in my ears even now.

"I will protect him. I swear on the great Rao." Her lips upturned into a smile; the last I would see her wear for the longest time.

I scrambled into the ship that would take me to this foreign planet that will never truly be home. Lara and Jor-El said their fair-wells to their infant son and the sight brought tears to my crystalline eyes.

The memory overwhelmed me with a since of vertigo as I suddenly appeared in some kind of semi-holographic form inside of the lab just as the ships launched into the stratosphere. An explosion trembled the crystal structure as the large doors blew apart.

"You're too late Zod. The Key is gone and you will never find it."

Zod's face was painted in frustration as he knew if and when Jor-El hid anything it would be impossible to find it. His eyes scanned over the room in search of any clues as to its spot, but we I knew it was futile since Jor-El was never sloppy. The general's black eyes got an odd glint when he looked directly at me and I knew he could see me.

"Hello dear girl. Didn't you just take off in one of the shuttles that was illegally launched from this location?"

"Zod." I nodded in greeting' but ignored the question.

He went to slap me, but his hand phased right through my head and left a painful chill where his hand passed through.

"What is this satanic device?" He held his hand tenderly in his right one and I noticed the burns blistering the skin.

"Why should I tell you?" I spat.

"Because, you foolish child, I have information that would be highly valuable to you and the continuation of the Kryptonian race." He smirked.

"Like what?" I growled.

"What's your family house?"

"The house of El, dumba-"

"Wrong!" What?

"Enough!" Jor-El screamed.

"What, you don't want her to know the truth?" He turned to his former friend.

"Zod." It was a warning and I was aware that Zod would not bid by it.

The General pulled out his saber and held it to the scientist's throat.

"No more deceit, no more treachery, Jor-El, NO MORE!"

The blade was skillfully pulled away and stabbed through his abdomen in just the right place to severe his arteries without killing him right away. His once bleached white lab coat was now stained red and my mind went numb. I lunged at Zod, but he skillfully dodged me and I tumbled onto the ground. He placed the tip of the blade against the soft flesh right above my heart.

"Here's the truth. You…. Are… my daughter. Jor-El took you from me and gave you to his brother in hopes of replacing the daughter they lost." He might have said more, I could no longer hear him and his lies. Though, I still believed him. I had his eyes, though not the color, and his resilient stubbornness.

The slim band on my wrist beeped. Signaling it was time for me to leave. But before I did I raised my middle fingers in a salute that Earthlings use as a way to insult other Earthlings. Man, humans are strange.
