"Are you okay?" Bunny looked into his Jack's eyes as he lay beneath him. He was heart broken by the sight of the tears building in the winter spirit's eyes.

"Terrified." Jack's eyes watered as he watched his love fading. Blood pooling around them.

"Why?" Bunny's face scrunched up slightly, but they both knew why. All the Guardians did.

"I've been looking out a window for three hundred years...dreaming about what it might feel like when those lights rise in the sky..." They were holding each other. Bunny laid in Jack's arms as the sun sat slowly. Casing them in dying twilight.

"..." Bunny just stared at his love. Bunnymund had promised to watch the sun set with Jack. The boy had never, in all his life, watched the stars fill into the night sky. Bunny had promised that after their fight with Pitch that they would. Together.

"What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?" Jack had never truly watched the sun set and for the first time he would with the hare that he had just confessed his love to just hours ago.

"You were my new dream..." Bunny's voice just barely a whisper.

"And you were mine." Jack choked on his tears.

'Terrified...' Pitch had attacked once more and Bunny had gotten stabbed by the Nightmare King's scythe.

'Terrified...' Bunny was immortal but the wound and pain was too great. It would never heal due to the nightmare sand that now filtered the hare's body. the Man in the Moon was going to have to take the Easter Guardian.

"Jack..."

'Terrified...' Jack had finally revealed his secret love to Bunny only to find out that the hare held the same feelings.

"Jack..."

'Terrified...' They just come together only to be torn apart.

"You were my new dream..." As Bunny said these words, only loud enough for Jack to hear, the Winter Guardian let a broken sob out as his heart clenched and shattered. Bunny's hand that was once gliding through his snow white hair fell away and his love's eyes closed.

The stars and Moon light the sky aglow in the purest white and Jack clung to his first and only love. Placing a light kiss to lips that were once so warm.
