I don't own Doctor Who. I wish I did though, then I can find a way to bring this Doctor back.

"How are you doing? Gone mad yet?" the Doctor asked Alison as he pressed a few buttons on the TARDIS console, with the Master following his lead. The Doctor's new companion was admiring the TARDIS, a strange look on her face. The three of them had just departed Earth, fresh from saving the world, and Alison had now stopped asking questions and had started to just admire the TARDIS.

"No I'm fine. I'm just still getting used to this." Alison responded hesitantly, before looking worried. "Wait, can it drive me mad?"

"Well this is his home dear, and look at him." the Master told her, ignoring the glare from his oldest frenemy.

"Good point." Alison said with a nod, before continuing to observe everything. "It's just that I still can't really believe we are actually traveling through time and space. I mean, I have so many questions."

"Oh not this again." the Master said with a sigh, before suddenly sounding exactly like Alison. "How does it work? How are we still breathing? How can it be bigger on the inside?"

"I was actually going to ask why does it look like this." Alison responded with annoyance, gesturing to the console and the walls. The Doctor, who had smirked a little from what the Master he'd done, instantly began to get angry.

"Hey! Say anything like that again and you can go back home." the Doctor told her, stroking the console affectionately as he did, which Alison noticed.

"Right. Sorry, I forgot." Alison said to the Doctor, smiling widely. "Never insult a man's vehicle."

"Oh shut up." the Doctor responded. "Anyway, do you have any idea where you want to go yet?"

"Go?" Alison said the word as if she has never said it before. The Doctor was about to give her one of his infamous snarky replies, when he saw what the problem is. She was scared.

The fact confused the Doctor. He had lived a long time, seen all manner of monsters that the dark corners of the universe had spat out, and none of them were here right now. No alien monsters trying to kill her, just him and the Master. Yes the Master may have been, probably still is, one of those monsters but Alison doesn't know that. The Doctor puzzled over this for a few seconds, before it finally clicked.

"You know what?" the Doctor asked a she gave what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "I know the perfect place to go. A little planet called Jast."

"Jast? Why would you want to go there?" the Master asked in confusion as he observed the Doctor carefully, trying to figure out why he would go there. "You hate it there. Called it the most boring planet in the universe."

"No I haven't. One of the other me's might have, but I've never been." the Doctor responded, which greatly confused Alison though she chose not to say anything, figuring it was an alien thing.

"What's Jast?" Alison asked instead, nervous and worried about where the Doctor was taking her.

"A planet where a large human colony went to during the Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire in the 43rd century, about two galaxies away from Earth." the Time Lord explained as he flipped some switches, causing the TARDIS to make more noise and shake a little. "The colony settled down on the planet, met the locals and formed one of the most famous partnerships in history, which led to the existence of several new species. Through it also resulted in a singer worse than Justin Bieber existing, so I guess it wasn't all good."

"Who?" Alison asked.

"Right, 2003. You're from a much more innocent time." the Doctor said as he stopped what he was doing to look at Alison. "How I envy you."

Suddenly the TARDIS stopped shaking, and the Doctor walked up to the doors. "Come along."

"Is it safe out there?" Alison asked, fear gripping her.

"Alison, do you really think I would take you to a brand new planet without knowing it's safe." the Doctor responded with a chuckle, though it was fake up until the Master gave a nod of confirmation, having just checked the scanners for anything outside the TARDIS. The Doctor straightened his back a little, before nodding towards the Master who flicked a switch to open the doors for Alison. "After you."

Alison looked at the Doctor hesitantly, before taking a deep breath and walked past the Doctor. The Time Lord couldn't help the smallest of smiles to form on his face, before hiding it and following Alison, shutting the doors behind him.

Alison looked around in amazement, barely able to believe her eyes. At first glance, it would look like she was in the average rainforest. But the average rainforest didn't have leaves that slowly changed colour depending on how close Alison came to touching it. The average rainforest didn't have animals that looked like a cross between a snake and an armadillo, with slime covered backs that let them rolls up trees when curled up into a ball. Though now that Alison thought about it, for all she knew an animal like that might exist somewhere on Earth.

"So, what do you think?" the Doctor asked, glancing down only briefly in annoyance of the dirt getting on his shoes.

"It's..It's just..." Alison tried to say calmly, before she couldn't stop herself from yelling and jumping slightly in amazement, hugging the Doctor quickly. "It's amazing. Oh thank you, thank you!"

"Alright, don't go too crazy." the Doctor told her once she let him go, rubbing at his clothes to remove the creases caused by Alison's hug. Despite his annoyed appearance however, inwardly he was smiling and enjoying the familiar sight of a new friend enjoying the wonders of the universe. He hasn't had this feeling in a long time. Looking around, he saw what he was looking for. "There you go. Follow me."

"Where? What did you see?" his new companion asked as she walked behind him. Alison watched him push away leaves and bushes, while wondering how the Doctor was able to wear those clothes in this humidity Eventually, they got past all the leaves and emerged onto the edge of a hill, and what they saw next took Alison's breath away. There in the distance was something which Alison could only assume was a spaceship. An actual spaceship, that honestly looked a little like the Enterprise from Star Trek. some distance from the ship and closer to her and the Doctor at the bottom of the hill was a building, looking like it was half the size of Lannet and the average height of a house.

"What's that?" Alison asked, not noticing the confused look in the Doctor's eyes.

"That is the human settlement. The Jastian city should be over there. You can just see the Coal Tower in the distance." the Doctor said as he pointed past the spaceship, and Alison could indeed see a tower.

"So what do we do now?"

"Well, I thought we'll go and say hello." the Doctor responded as he began to walk down the hill.

"But what about the Master?" Alison asked as she looked the way they came, before following the Doctor.

"I told you before." the Doctor answered. "He can't leave the TARDIS."

"But why? I mean, he should be allowed to leave."

"He just can't." the Doctor responded.

"Is he your prisoner or something?" Alison continued to question. "At first I thought he was your butler, but-"

The Doctor laughed loudly, interrupting her. "My butler! Oh, thank you! That's going to make me happy for a long time. Perhaps when we get back, I'll point that out to him?"

"Doctor. Please just tell me if he's your prisoner." Alison ordered nervously. She grew a little worried when the Doctor stopped and looked at her with a odd, but slightly angry, look in his eyes, before speaking.

"He's not my prisoner Alison. If anything, he's my cellmate." the Doctor told her, before walking away. Alison wanted to ask more, but knew she shouldn't push her luck. Instead, she decided to change the subject as they reached the bottom of the hill and got closer to the building.

"So what should we do when we get there? I mean, how do we explain why we're here?"

"I don't know. Something will come to me though." the Doctor told her. "I'm pretty good at talking myself into places."

"Halt!" someone suddenly shouted. Suddenly about 20 armed soldiers marched out of the building and surrounded them while pointing guns at Alison and the Doctor. Two jeep like vehicles, though they were slightly bigger than a regular jeep, suddenly drove up behind them, where more soldier pointing guns at them.

"Doctor, what's happening?" Alison asked, her heart beating quickly out of fear of the situation.

"Sir, we've found two strangers and they're not Jastians. What should we do?" one soldier, who was uniquely wearing a uniform with bits of blue and green as opposed to all black, asked as he lifted his right wrist to his face, which had some kind of screen on it.

"Bring them in Jenkins and quickly. We have to know who they are and if they're involved with the murders." a voice suddenly said from the screen, and the soldier, Jenkins, nodded to two other soldiers. They walked up to the Doctor and Alison, cuffs in hand.

"So, I don't suppose you can talk us out of this can you? I mean, you said you were good at it." Alison asked the Doctor as the soldiers began to cuff them.

"No I said I was good at talking my way into things. And while it may be shocking, I'm not great at everything." the Doctor quickly responded, as his mind quickly tried to figure out what was happening from the little information he had been given, and failing. But what he did know, was that his instincts were screaming at him to get Alison out of here. To just leave in the TARDIS and just forget about whatever was happening here, before she ended up dead like so many others before her. And the Doctor also knew, that like always, he's going to ignore those instincts.

Maybe he should allow the Master the ability to leave the TARDIS. Then he could get the Doctor to actually be smart and listen to his instincts.
