The Demon Hunter Illidan stood in an empty place, clenching his fist. He could not believe that the ancient Naa'ru would turn out to be even at least half-right. The Old Gods were Azeroth's greatest enemies, and with the planet in pain along with its forces remaining under-powered - not much hope was left. Of course, the heroes always found the way to turn the tide. They always stood vigilant, they proved everyone wrong. United, not even Titans can bring them down. He truly believed in that, yet his hand stayed a closed fist. He could feel a presence nearby. Somehow he just knew who might that be.

''Illidan!'' a harsh female voice exclaimed. ''You finally showed yourself again. I hope it is so that you can admit your failure. ''As one of the world's most adored heroes''.'' the Warden glared. ''I concur - feeding your twisted arrogance would please you. Unfortunately, I don't have that honour to offer you, Maiev.'' answered the demon hunter. ''Then what are you here for... You think you are so adored by everyone, but they don't know you as I do. I had ten thousand years, you see.'' said the hunter. ''Not even the just as adored Tyrande paid notice of your absence. A monster is what you'll always be.''

Illidan huffed from his nostrils, his wings opening wide would make him look bigger and opposing. ''Will you ever let go off your hatred, Warden?'' he would ask. ''I don't know. Would you dare to prove me wrong...? Would you let your enemy get close to you even if it meant taking the risk to lose everything?'' and then there was silence.

Maiev took off her helmet and placed it down on the ground. A decisive yet hateful look across her features. She strided towards him without hesitation. Illidan, for some reason, he found himself closing his fel eyes - unsure if he still held that old fear of her deep inside him. The closer the steps got, the tighter he would hold his blind eyes. With a gauntlet, Maiev reached out and every second that passed, she took in his expression - almost secretly relishing in it. Awaiting for the moment he lashes out. But, that moment never came. Her green eyes widened in shock, as her talons had curled around his chin and all the Betrayer mastered was a vivid grind of his teeth. Her features were fast to come back to her infamous frown. ''I've dreamed for a moment like this. Where I would get my hands around your throat-'' her hand at that moment opened and she almost clasped around his cheek, talons perfectly curving around the lines of his face. ''-and rip your head off. I... will never accept you as anything but the monster that you always proved to be.'' Illidan re-opened his blind eyes that seemed as if they directly looked in hers and eased in to the foreign touch. ''I don't blame you, Maiev. I did destroy your life. That - I know I can never fix.'' The Warden snatched her talons away from the Betrayer's face and receded, frowning ever so. ''But I do know I can help Azeroth rid of its enemies once again. For that to happen enemies will become allies. Will you join the cause, Maiev?'' The Warden had already put her helmet back on and watch the man behind her over the shoulder. ''For the good of Azeroth - I'm willing to do anything. Even if it means cooperating with the likes of you, Betrayer.'' Illidan smiled knowingly. ''Good. Then let us make haste... into the abyss.''
