Disclaimer: I, sadly, do NOT own Rookie Blue in any way shape or form. I'm only borrowing from ABC.
Rated T to be safe, but it's probably not.
A/N: So, this is my first Rookie Blue fic ever, and my first fic posted under this PenName. But not my first fic posted. Long story short, I have another account under which I post Glee fics. If you want the whole story as to why I made another account, feel free to check out my profile page.
Yeah, I know, it's short. But it is what it is, and I think that trying to lengthen it would ruin it.
I plan to write lots more drabbles. I actually have another one already written (that's a bit longer) that will be up shortly! As well as a completed oneshot that I'll be posting next.
(I wanted to post them soon, but FF . net doesn't let 'new users' post stories for 48 hours. So here I am, 48 hours and some odd minutes later, posting!)
I really hope you enjoy!

Andy McNally. Set after 'Fresh Paint'.
It's her first time.
Having a gun pointed at her, that is.
It's not how she pictured it. Not that she had any real expectations. It's not something that you plan on happening. You're trained to expect and be able to respond to it rationally, you're trained on the procedures. But, just like they were told when they graduated the academy, procedures don't mean a thing once you're on the streets.
Protocols aren't going to make your heart stop racing, or your palms stop sweating, when anyone – even a teenager with no bloodlust – points a gun at you.
And she never really thought that she'd be able to avoid being so vulnerable; so afraid. But, hey ... everyone dreams, right? It's normal to envision yourself being calm and collected, to envision yourself maintaining your dignity. And it's normal to not be calm and collected, to not maintain your dignity … right?
Because 'Please don't make me shoot you, this is my first day' is not very dignified. It's downright embarrassing, actually. Which is why she won't ever tell anyone about it; she'll be a dutiful little cop and write her report on the important events that transpired. But she doesn't have to tell Dov, Traci and Chris about how a 17 year old got the drop on her; about how she pleaded with him; about how she almost wet her pants.
She'll just let them think what they want to think. Like Dov said at the bar afterwards, she brought the guy out in cuffs, by herself, on her first day. As far as he's concerned, she was rock 'n roll. So maybe she's withholding a little information from them ... but she's pretty sure that Dov would do the same, if he'd been in her shoes.
Because there's nothing wrong with being scared the first time, right?
