"I want you to kill her, the spy Black Widow, also known as Natasha Romanoff," Director Maria Hill said to Clint. "It will be done," he said simply, picking up his bow and arrow. "Good, Barton?" She began questioningly "will you be requiring any assistant?". "No." he said, though secretly wanting help. With that, he walked through the door, approaching his jet. The metal of the plane was cold from the wind chill, but he didn't care. He stowed his weapon in its case and powered up the jet, speeding away at nearly 400 mph.

"Great, just great." He whispered to himself, infuriated. He didn't want to kill her, in fact, he couldn't kill her, but he had to. They'd met briefly, a long time ago, but he hadn't seen her in years. Actually, he'd nearly forgotten about her, but he couldn't have.

He arrived in Mexico City, near her exact coordinates, and came upon a house. It was a small and wrecked looking one, surprisingly. Trudging up closer, he resisted the urge to walk away and forget the mission. Suddenly, the door clicked open and he jumped behind a bush, raising his weapon, staring down the shaft of his arrow. She looked almost exactly as he remembered her. "Still as beautiful as ever." he thought, then realized he had lost his focus; she was further away now. Again, he aimed, but he must have made a noise, because she whipped around and saw him. Her eyes widened in shock as she realized whom it was. He set down his weapon and started towards her. "Long time, no see, huh?" he reasoned calmly when he stopped in front of her. She just stared at him like he was crazy, which, given the circumstances, was a very reasonable thought for her right now. . 'I know why you're here," she said, glaring at him. "You're here to kill me." She knew! How did she know? "about that… I wasn't really going t- to kill you." He stuttered out. "Well, then who gave you the mission, was it Fury?" He sighed. "Maria Hill, Director Maria Hill." She cocked her head slightly, staring at him intently as if she were trying to figure him out. "Director, what? What happened to Fury?" She asked him. "Missing, disappeared, we can't find him anywhere." She gasped, putting a confused expression on her face, but he could tell by the look in her eyes that she was upset. She shook her head gently, as if she were trying to rid herself of a bad thought.

"Come to SHIELD with me." he said. She looked up from her boots, which had seemed to become very interesting lately. "Clint, you know-" 'Please, Natasha, we'll help you find Fury.' He interrupted, looking at her pleadingly. "Cli- fine." she sighed. 'Come on, let's go then."
