This is just a small piece that I did at like two in the morning because I was bored, and the idea popped into my head and couldn't be ignored. It's another really short Draco/Hermione fic for your enjoyment as I struggle to finish chapter six of Silver and Scarlet!

Mirror

She was beautiful. He could not deny it, no matter how hard he tried. He knew that it shouldn't bother him, but it did. He knew that he should not be thinking like this, but he was. And all the while, she was ignorant of how he felt, how he was being tormented by his relentless thoughts.

He wasn't in love with her, no. He wasn't sure he could love, but he knew he didn't hate her. How could he hate someone so beautiful? She was pure sunlight to his darkest night. She was warm autumn afternoons, he was frozen winter nights. They were as opposite as they could be, yet they seemed to mimic each other perfectly.

They were stone and earth, they were water and air. They flowed around each other, embraced each other in some unknown way. They were so nearly the same, and so nearly different. He was her twin, her shadow. She was his light, his joy. He saw things in her that he knew were within himself. But he also saw thing in her that were alien to him. He knew that if she looked, she would find the same was true of him.

And in that, he could not hate her. Because how could you hate a beauty that mirrors you?
