It was a spilt-second decision, the only thing he could think of.

He hit her.

She went along with it, thinking about the mission, but her eyes burned with tears.

He hit her.

She went along with the plan they were forming, kept pretending. But tears burned at her eyes as her cheek stung. She couldn't believe he hit her. Actually hit her.

As soon as his hand made contact with her face, he was sorry. He saw her touch her cheek and wanted to kick himself. How could he have done that?

Their fake conversation over, she turned to him, brown eyes blazing. "You-"

He gently took her face in his hands. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." The look of hurt in her eyes is too much to bear.

She doesn't want his apology at the moment. He's going to work with Strickler and he hit her.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Later, she leaves.

"Fi! Fi! Fiona!"

He's really sorry he hit her, and he's almost sorry he's working with Strickler.

He doesn't know what he'll do without her.

But there she is.

It's okay again.

A/N: Not my best. Maybe I'll rewrite it later. Reviews? Please?
