Merlin: My Cobalt Eyed Love
~(:O:)~
Merlin.
The only person I am ever likely to love in the entirety of my short, blighted life. Before I met him my daily existence was one of misery and pain. I only knew I faced death, whether it came from the hands of my fellow humans or as a consequence of my curse. All hope had left me, until I met him. The one with eyes the colour of the ocean or the sky on a bright summer's day. At first I didn't trust him, why would I after my experiences once my curse came into being?
Gradually as he hid me from the Bounty Hunter, his brightness and reverence for life and magic shattered the block of ice I erected around my heart. Never did I imagine I would meet someone like him. Willing to forgive my tainted past, prepared to live a life with me, to keep me protected from those who wished to harm me. When he told me he would leave with me, my walls finally tumbled down.
I knew then: I loved him. But our chance for a life together was cruelly cut short. A wound from a sword slowly drained my life. I came to love him with every fibre of my being, when I saw where he had carried me. Beside a lake, the sky mirrored within the enigmatic waters surrounding Avalon, mountains shrouding the view before me.
His deep ocean eyes are the last sight I glimpse as my soul vacates my body. As I pass through the Veil, I take with me two emotions, buried within the depths of my heart. Gratitude; for the young man who showed me that life, even for one such as I, can be full of redemption and love. Joy; for having been granted the chance to know love and finally peace.
Merlin, my first and only love, the other half of my soul.
Merlin, you made me feel loved. Thank you.
Author's note: Ah well. I was going to put this in my Merlin fiction: A True High Priestess, but instead put it as a one shot!
