Dear Readers,
Thank you for choosing to read my new fic! It probably won't be the best fic of all time, but what the heck! This chapter just details the basics (the protagonist's motivation/friends, the characters who appear), but it shouldn't be too long before I actually get it going. My plan is to cram a bunch of "episodes" in this fic, break for another fic which is intended to be a "movie novelization" and then do a "Hokanten Quest II". I hope you'll like them!

Prologue
For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a Pokemon Master. I've not met a single person who hasn't wanted to do something with Pokemon. Well, alright, there was that one kid, Tory...but I'm getting off subject. Ever since the day I recieved my first Pokemon, I've become increasingly more determined than ever to fulfill my dream. Along the way, I've made many good friends. Take Brock Slate for example. He's really funny, and man, can that guy cook! Then there's May Reddale and her younger brother Max. May is extremely good at Pokémon coordination, and Max is getting progressively better at Pokémon training. And Dawn Hikari...a true friend through and through, just like Pikachu. And who could forget rival-turned-friend, Gary Oak? But as good as these friends are, none truly compare to Misty Waterflower...I couldn't stop missing her every day...until that fateful one. What? Who am I? Ashton Jeremiah Ketchum. Why do you ask?
Characters:
(Note: When a voice actor is mentioned, it simply means that it is recommended that you imagine the character having that voice.)
Ashton Jeremiah "Ash" Ketchum: The main protagonist (and the narrator). Now age 17, he is determined to become the world's greatest Pokemon Master...and Misty's boyfriend. Voiced by Logan Lerman for this fic.
Pikachu: Ash's first Pokemon and loyal companion. It is usually unwise to upset Pikachu. Believe me, it's a shocking experience. Voiced by Ikue Otani.
Delia Veronica Ketchum: Ash's mother. Is concerned about very strange matters involving Ash's underwear, and whether or not he's changing it every day. Voiced by Veronica Taylor.
Jennifer Mistica "Misty" Waterflower: Leader of Cerulean City's Water Element Pokemon Battle Gymnasium. Likes French things. Is easily angered (possibly the reason she always carries a mallet). Close friend of Monsieur Ketchum...hopes to get closer still. Voiced by Natalie Portman for this fic.
Leonardo Hector Katterson: 14-year-old Pokemon Trainer, who goes by Hector. He seems to favor the entirely new Pokemon known as Xorbah (pronounced ZOHR-bah). Is smitten with Misty. OC, voiced by Amanda Tapping.
Missingno: Extremely rare Pokemon, taking on the form of a small, furry black ball with small but muscular limbs, yellow eyes, and a red question mark on his forehead. Speaks fluent English (with a British accent!), is very friendly, and is a frequent commentator for any Pokemon battle of which he happens to be aware. If angered, he is known to launch either a Glitch attack or a Crystal Blaze attack. Voiced by Daniel Radcliffe.
