AN: I realise my other story needs to be updated, and I will do so soon, hopefully within the next week or so, but this has been floating around in my brain for a while so here I am. Completely unbetaed so any mistakes are my own.

Please bear in mind that this is completely AU and none of the characters have any shared history so no Glee club, no William McKinley High, no slushies, nothing.

Preface

Room 241, that's what my slip from the school housing department assigned me so let's go find it. My sister, Natalie, told me all about her college experience and said her first few weeks were awkward, trying to work out a routine that didn't impinge on the other person's space but Stacey and her turned out to have so much in common, becoming fast best friends and was even a bridesmaid at her wedding a few months ago. I hope I find someone that much of a friend here too. Maybe this year will be the year I finally be the real me, away from my well meaning but overbearing parents, away from Cowtown, Ohio, away from head cheerleader, president of the celibacy club, all-round queen bee of high school and away from the pressure of being "perfect" Quinn Marie Fabray.

Room 241, my room. I picked this particular college, as it was the one furthest away from home that was offering me a full scholarship. Don't get me wrong, I love my family but being a surrogate father to my younger sister Rebekah, and helping my mum cope with the destruction my deadbeat dad left behind was a lot of pressure for a teenager. I worked everyday after football practice at the local children's centre teaching them how to play piano or guitar, depending. It also meant I was in heavy contact with the mothers, who'd also enlist my help privately "around the house". What horny teenager would refuse such an offer? But it wasn't who I wanted to be any more. Maybe my roommate will help me find a girl I can actually talk to rather than just screw. Maybe they'll help me be someone other than Noah "Puck" Elijah Puckerman, cougar fiend and all round bad boy.
