Magnus sits back in Fell's chair, watching the flame in the fireplace. He smiles, and thinks on his visitor. He won't lie, he has grown fond of her. Her spirit is as bright as her hair. And she deserves happiness. Something that she may not get with Jace.
Sebastian, he obviously really liked her. He's what she needs to get over Jace. He is everything that Jace is not, but then again Jace is everything Sebastian is not. He sighs, and begin to play with the fire, creating images. But there is something that seems so familiar about him.
Magnus shakes his head. Nah, he never met the kid in his life. Clary did deserve to be happy, though. The idea of Clary being unhappy made his chest hurt. He rolls his eyes at himself. He realizes that he fell in love with more than Alec. He loves Clary too, in a brotherly way.
It's hard not to love Clary, though. She is not like the other shadowhunters, she is different. She's willing to sacrifice herself and all shadowhunter morals to help the ones she loves. Like giving me the book of white. When all I give her is my word.
Not only that, she is beautiful. It's not a mystery on why Jace had fallen for her: she is a dream girl for most guys. She thinks her height is against her, and her smallness a weakness. But it's not, it makes people want to protect her. It makes Magnus want to protect her.
Mangus begins to wonder on when exactly did he become sentimental and mushy over someone. Especially a girl. But he has taken care of her since she was little. Not in the way that Clary wanted to be taken care of, but of how her mother wanted to protect her. Maybe he's always cared for her, like she was family. He just didn't know it.
Mangus does know one thing now, though. He cares for her, and he will protect her when she needs protecting. Not that she will need it, after tearing that ship apart piece by piece. He shudders at the thought of so much power belonging to one person. Clary can be unstoppable, with the right training.
Magnus shakes his head. She is already unstoppable, without the training. And not because of the ruins, either. It's because she loves with all her heart. Something that the normal shadowhunter is afraid to do. That is the true weakness of people: that they are afraid.
The character of Clary will make people afraid of her. Not because she towers over people with her height, or she says witty things, it's because she is unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. She will do everything in her power to stop anyone from hurting those that she loves. When she goes into training, that will be when she becomes invincible.
He smiles then, and hopes that he's one of those people. He could use a little protection at times.
